Hello! I am a new member, but not a new reader. I've been reading this site (and getting advice) from you all for a while now. Really love being able to read from others going through some of the same issues.

I am wondering if anyone is familiar with Entero-Chronic? My cat has had chronic diarrhea for months now, and the vet suggested trying it. He's been tested for parasites, been put on meds that didn't work, tried Forti Flora, which helped a bit (still loose stools, but not as um... explosive, for lack of a better word). The vet doesn't think it's a food allergy, because he's not showing any other symptoms. He's also on a vet diet for urinary, so this makes changing his food tricky (tried changing his food a couple of months ago and 3 weeks later, blood in his urine again... so back on Urinary SO he went).

Now we're trying Entero-Chronic. It's only been 4 days with me adding a package to his food, so I don't expect results right away, but hoping to hear from someone that might have an idea of when I might see a change in his stool. He's fine otherwise. He eats well, drinks water, plays.

Has he had the PCR Diarrhea panel run to rule out some of the other less common parasites not tested on the in-house fecal float?  If not, I'd do that, too.

As for how long until you see an improvement, I have no idea.

Do you live in the U.S.?  The reason I ask is that the last time I had read anything about it it wasn't available in the U.S.  I know one of our members here with an IBD kitty was able to avoid steroids by using this and certain novel proteins.  Of course having urinary issues makes food changes difficult.  I don't remember if she even said how long is took.

No, I'm in Canada. We did find Royal Canin now has a new diet that's for urinary issues and allergy issues. This might be an option to try, but they only have it in a dry food.

No, since I have 2 other cats that show no symptoms, she doesn't feel parasites is a likely cause.  I suppose I can suggest it just to be 100%.
