My cat has been lying on the floor and he starts shaking. I suspect he has seizures, but it is very light. Can anyone help what is happening?

Please get your cat to the vet, ASAP! We cannot offer a diagnosis here, which is exactly what your cat needs.

I will note that, if your cat is CLEARLY sleeping, cats can twitch/move when they dream.

However, if you suspect your cat has seizures, he may have epilepsy and need medication.

Yes unfortunately he was wide awake when this happened, so I guess its going to be a trip to the vet for him.

Yes, this is an ASAP vet trip. Is this is a new symptom?

Well it was light twitching so I'm uncertain after watching other cats having seizures online. Compared to the ones online mine was just slight twitching. Is it still seizures or is it a different cause.

Cats can present differently with seizures. There is also something called hyperesthesia that can cause the skin to "crawl" and tails to twitch.

How is your cat acting? Eating/drinking? Using the litter box?

Next time try to get the episode on video. This way you can show your vet what is happening.

My cat has been acting normally after it.

I would still take the cat to the vet. This is not normal behavior.
