I just walked into the bathroom to see that my girl Ava had vomited after doing her "business" in her kitty litter (number two).

In her vomit there was a long black thing and after closer examination I seen that she had eaten and vomited up 4 WHOLE HAIR TIES! FOUR!!! I didn't even know i had that many hair ties in my house!

She was a little skitish at first mostly because she could sense my bf was upset that she had vomited - mind you it was completely not her fault like really, she is not even a year old yet just a curious girl!

its been half an hour since she's vomited and she is purring and biting and her playful self, should i take her to the vet to be sure the hair ties are all out or is her normal behaviour an indication that she vomited up everything she needed to and nothing was further digested.

Tell me your thoughts please!

Can you confirm you have all the hair ties?? If she's eating drinking OK would assume the worst is over,

unless there is an obstruction cause for alarm I wouldn't worry to much just watch her closely for a few days.

Growth was stumped on one of my cat's as a kitten years ago from swallowing an elastic band...very scary

She had her dinner just before this all happened so for the moment i'm going to assume she didn't vomit all her food up thats why she is not hungry yet. She's laying down now i'm guessing i may not be able to tell much until the morning.

Thats awful about your cat, id hate for something to be twisting and stuck in their little delicate tummies.

Can you phone and ask?

Were the ties whole, or may there be bits still inside?

I suppose it could be wise to give her liquid paraffine, to make everything come out. The vet should have this.

The 4 hair ties that came out were whole. I ended up calling the emergency vets and they told me at this point there isn't anything I can do because the hair ties were fabic and didnt have the metal it wouldnt show on an xray, i just have to monitor her for the next week.

Ok, so lets hope for the best.

Im thinking, if there is something to eat, which would help up the process.  Probably something easy to digest, and quite a lot of it.

I read the other day, they got a thief, whom swallowed some stolen gold.  So they forced him to eat 40(!) bananas in short time. And soon enough, the gold come out the natural way from behind. Yes, they forced him too to wash off the gold thorougly, befofe they took him to the judge on duty.

If she continues to throw up, that would seem to indicate a possible obstruction, so keep a watch on her.  If you notice lethargy, change in eating, or inability to poop, get her to the vet immediately.
