Hi all and thank you for allowing me to join your community. I have an 8 year old black Bombay who goes by the name Ace. I came home from work this morning and he and his brother and sister were doing well. Took a nap and woke up to him limping, not bearing any weight on his right front paw. I checked his paw and in between the pads of his foot but didn't find anything unusual. When I picked him up to get him off the bed, he let out a little meow. Can anyone offer any advice? I read through a few other posts regarding the same issue but I received numerous solutions pertaining to kittens. Thank you for your time and have a great evening.

Welcome to TCS
I'm sorry you're joining under such circumstances.   Ace might have a slight strain if he fell off something and landed funny, but it is still worth a vet visit just to be sure it's nothing serious.   Since he is limping and meowing to show discomfort, he is clearly in pain and since cats typically hide their pain, he should go to the vet within the next day.   However, it's not an emergency (don't need to go right away) and, since these things do sometimes clear up on their own, he might be fine tomorrow.  For now, you should try to keep him from being too active and from jumping down from heights - easier said than done, I know.

We would love to see pictures of Ace, btw.  Also, your other cat - what is her name?

Hope Ace feels better soon.

Hi and thank you for your thought. I kind of feel the same, only because after sleeping all day he got up to use the restroom and eat. I noticed he applied alight weight but not for long. If he isn't better by morning a vet visit will be in order. Ace has his brother Lucky (a stray who found me) and his sister Dakota (a stray who was going to the pound). I tried to attach a photo but it won't let me. Thank you again, I will definitely keep you updated

You are so kind, thank you. I think it's my phone that has the issue so I will post some from my computer when my internet comes back (we're having some nasty winds at the moment)

Thank you, and yes they are. We have had him since he was a kitten. I always get paranoid and jump the gun when any of my babies don't feel good. We will see what the morning brings. He managed to climb into bed with his brother so I just hope he is comfortable for now.

I wanted to give you all an update on Ace. While I still don't have internet at home, Ace seems to have healed on his own. He is back to being the domineering panther he usually is. Thank you all for the advice. Very happy I found this site!
