Wellness CORE duck & turkey flavor: black food

Hi,

I just introduced my 9 month old cat to Wellness CORE duck and turkey flavor. When I opened the first can, the food had a coating of black film surrounding it. The sauce seemed blackish as well. I'm not sure if this is normal. I haven't had this issue with any of the other Wellness CORE flavors (e.g., kitten, chicken, salmon). Has anybody had a similar experience with this specific flavor/ brand? I would appreciate any feedback! Thank you in advance!!

I feed that flavor to my cat, and it isn't black. There's a gravy around it, and it's a darker brown than the chicken variety but not black. I haven't had any problems with Wellness CORE before myself, but I would throw that batch out!
