Blue buffalo vs science diet? I've been feeding my cat blue buffalo but with the recent news that came out about BB not being honest about their ingredients, I've thought about switching my cat to science diet when she's ready for adult cat food. Any thoughts?

This is probably the more controversial topic here
You can search from the top of the page and find hundreds of threads on this topic.

First off, though, are you talking about dry food, or wet food?.  BIG difference.  Let's start by having you read these articles, then come back with questions, ok:

If I had to feed my cat any kibble it would be Orijen. The other 2 you mentioned can't hold a candle to it

Hey. Science diet isnt really super duper cheap but their ingredients are. Orijen is really great but it is very expensive. Here are a couple of other decent ones ive used:

Notice that theres only one non meat/fat igredient in the first 5 ingredients. The potato. But yet the price is very affordable for this large bag!

This is another very good one. No non meat/fat ingredient in the first 5 ingredients.

Honestly, the costco brand is better than science diet. So opt for that if price is a huge issue.

Consider feeding some canned food as hydration is an issue for cats on a dry diet.

IMO if you're going to to feed kibble you should feed the highest quality you can afford. I also really like Orijen, or their sister company Acana, but I feed Orijen as a snack only not as a primary meal. Here's a list of other foods that are good. Good kibble is pricey, but it's worth it. Remember that cats are obligate carnivores, so anything that isn't meat for vitamins/supplements they don't really need as is simply added to the food to make it cheaper and those things can trigger health problems later in a cat's life.

I feed Hill's Ideal Balance Kitten dry for my cat just to munch on during the day, not Science Diet but it is made by Hills.  I have liked it and he does well on it.  I feed a variety of canned and Science Diet is one I mix in.  I feel like for the price you can get a better food.  But there are worse foods as well.  I am not a fan of the high carbohydrates in the canned, which is why I feed other kinds with lower carbs as well.  In the end, feed whatever your cat does well on. :)
