is it a symptom of constipation?

My 1-year-old kitty poops a little poop like a marble on the floor.

It's not like he never poops in the litterbox, but once in a while, I found a little marble-like poop on the floor, or on the furniture.

I feed him dry food, and once in a while wet canned food.

Is it a symptom of constipation? Do I need to change the diet for him?

It could be. Is the dropping hard and dry? How often does he poop in the litter box?

Wet food will definitely help, the more wet in his diet the better. Sometimes swallowed fur contributes to constipation, too, so you can brush him more often to reduce the amount of fur he ingests while grooming himself.

It definitely sounds like constipation tome.  Little round hard stools

As Molly92 stated, more water in his diet might be very helpful.  I feed only canned food, plus mix filtered water into it
(call me paranoid since I am now on my 3rd kidney cat and I used to feed kibble).

If you still find these little "presents" around the house, then you could try adding a little canned pumpkin to his diet, maybe just a teaspoon per meal.  The extra fiber helps.

I agree, sounds like constipation.

Can you get your cat on a wet food diet? and add a bit of extra water to his food.

Pumpkin does work great..if he will eat it. Or PLAIN baby squash...

The poop is a bit dry and hard when I found it. He poops 1-2 times a day.

I started to brush him more often and change his diet from all-dry food to half-and-half(dry and wet) food.

It's been 2 days, and no marble poops on the floor yet!

didn't know that 'canned pumpkin' could help this situ.

Thanks for you advice. I'll try it tonight!
