Hi Everyone

I am looking for some alternative quality food (i the same price range, maybe a but more if needed) since the blue buffalo fiasco of the being sued for the false advertising...

Our lifestyle does not permit raw feeding, even though I know this is best. However I have found some things and wondered if anyone was familiar wit them as far as quality:

Supposedly dried raw?

Also looked at Nutro, Royal Canin, and Evo.

I feed the Nature's Variety Instinct kibble to my cats! I chose it, specifically the duck and turkey formula, because the first five ingredients are meat and it doesn't have anything like peas or lentils bringing up the protein content on paper without actually benefitting my cats.
The Raw Boost kibble is a couple dollars more for a slightly smaller bag. They sell those pieces separately and if you look at the ingredients...it seems like they're just larger pieces of kibble. I actually mix in pieces of Stella and Chewy's freeze dried raw instead. Plus, I can rotate flavors that way to get them more variety.

I don't feed dry on a regular basis but when I do give them some it's the Nature's Variety. I think it's priced comparably to the BB and it's just as readily available in the big box pet stores and online

Mook loves the BB Adult Wilderness. Although we are halfway through a bag of Nutro. Mercy will eat anything but Mook is a dry cat food lover.

I hear about this Forti Flora ? is it a cat product ? Where do I buy it ? I would seriously love for her to eat more wet food.

It's a probiotic that a lot of people sprinkle onto their cat's food.  Many cats really like the taste so it's used both as a probiotic and as a topper to get a fussy cat to eat. it can be found on Amazon as well as other retailers

So it was the Purina one. Since losing Kitten we seem to have migrated to this nearly all dry food household. While the baby consumes everything I can see she prefers the dry kibble as well. Kitten was a wet food eater and would on occasion nibble some kibble. Mook would usually eat a bit of Kittens wet food but preferred the dry. Since we have two healthy cats I'd like to work on keeping it that way. We've really slipped off track the past two months. Then Mook went through that period of not wanting to eat anything and we slipped even further in letting her have foods we normally don't use. I heard about the BB but of course that was one of the few decent foods she would eat. Mook nearly hopped up and down when she smelled the bag. The term Rock and a Hard Place has never had a clearer meaning that what it's like trying to find what your cat will eat and what you know they should.

I can't get my cats to eat the Stella and Chewy's but I'm hoping just offering a piece in their food bowl will eventually see them eating that. I raised sport horses. Nutrition was at the top of the charts in getting them into fighting condition and maintaining health during the off season. We don't mind spending more I just wish Mook would freaking eat ONE of them.

If you're interested in freeze dried raw look into Primal. Are you looking for kibble or wet food? Here's some links to good foods in both categories.

I want Kibble... She will not touch wet food of any sort, we have tried.

When the BB we have runs out, I think I may order a bag of the Nature's Variety Instinct.

I'd get some now and slowly start to incorporate it into the BB that you have and slowly decrease the BB while increasing the NVI until the BB Is all gone. That way, there will be less of a chance that her tummy will get upset. It's easier to switch back and forth between wet foods than dry ones. It will also increase the likelihood that she will accept the new food. NVI is available at Petco and Petsmart

There are a lot of options you can choose from with kitty food! :)

Are you referring to the lawsuit of the false advertising because they were getting food with by-products in them and formulated their foods with it, though they claim they didn't know by-products were in the food?

You can do:

Nutro MAX CAT

Nutro

Whole Earth Farms

Merrick

Canidae

Natural Balance

Solid Gold

Ideal Balance

Halo

Wellness (depending on which you get it will be expensive)

Natures Variety Instinct (Expensive)

Orijen (Expensive)

Earthborn

Taste of the Wild

Evo

AvoDerm

Acana

Fromm

Pure Vita

Nutrisca

Chicken Soup for the Soul
