Cosequin question

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know if cosequin for cats is all natural for cats? Dose cosequin cause any bad Side effects to cats liver or, any other organs in the cats body now or in the future?

I'm not sure what you mean by all natural, is there a specific ingredient that you're concerned about? I don't think they disclose every single ingredient either- I think part of it is proprietary (secret). Maybe someone else can confirm?

It's not supposed to have any ill effects on your cats. Smoochie took Cosequin for her arthritis for a few years with no side effects.

My Sven took it for his arthritis, and he had Kidney Disease while he took it.  No issues.

My cat is 16 years old. I need to find her joint & hip healthy supplements Can anybody Recommend some thing. With no long-term side effects such as kidney issues

is Glucosamine & Chondroitin safe for Cats?

Did someone tell you NOT to use Cosequin?  My kidney cat used it and it worked very well.

I give my oldest Cosequin and she's had no ill side effects.  Previously, I gave it to my kidney kitty for arthritis.  It actually is also good for kidney support.

I just the other day bought the maximum strength one (with boswellia) to start my 17 yr.old Dave on. He has been limping on back leg for a few months now, I read great things about it, so giving it a shot!

Hi. I was an idiot and forgot to switch to every other day for giving my cat baby a Cosequin dosage. Just realized after re-ordering online that I should have switched to every other day months ago! Instead of 4-6 weeks of everyday dosing, I accidentally dosed daily for 14 weeks. That might explain why my cat has been throwing up some lately although she does that occasionally, especially since she will no longer eat paste to get rid of hairballs. Does anyone know if she'll be okay? I'm pretty sure she hasn't had any diarrhea. Her next vet visit for a checkup with bloodwork is in a few months.

I give my cat Cosequin daily and she doesn't throw up from up. Having said that, it's possible that it's making your kitty through up. Have you recently changed food? That might be the cause as well.

Thanks very much for your reply! I did switch food but that was a couple weeks ago, I think, and my kitty seemed fine. I'm changing her Cosequin dosage to once every other day. She's either 7-8 or 11. Different places gave me different answers, but the vet last October said she was showing signs of arthritis.

Sometimes cats don't respond negatively to a new food for a couple of days. Throwing up can also be a result of overfeeding, especially if you feed dry food.

Okay. Thanks! Sometimes she does throw up after eating her kibble. She's a grazer and usually eats just a few kibbles at a time.
