our (jaspurr and i) new little kittens are a joy, and also keep us 'hopping' with their kitten antics. the girls knew each other well, from being with the same foster, and they play very well together. each has their own style, and their own toy preferences!

so with kittens (/cats) on my mind, for today's Question of the Day.........

Does your cat/kitten(s) have a favorite toy? Or a toy that s/he's very possessive of?

our jaspurr loves his catnip toys, especially the ones with catnip pellets in them!
once i noticed allie's attachment to this toy, i looked around online for it, to try to find a spare one(s), for when her baby eventually wears beyond repair. i didn't find anything online, but just a couple days ago came across a second one we have (in pink). so we now have one spare baby, and the spare has the tag still on it!
so i'll be contacting the company on the tag (also has their street address, which i'll verify online is still correct), to see if i can get a hold of maybe 6 or so more of them. i figure if our allie outgrows her love of this toy, i can donate the extras to a shelter.

how about you?

Morgana's favourite toy is the fluffy thing on a stick, looks similar to this:

Loved it when she was a babe, still does now at 5 years old
wide eyes and butt wiggles galore.

As for Camelot, he was never much of a toy cat, hardly interested him. He did used to chase butterflies though, if that counts!

Penelopy likes anything she can toss up in the air and pounce on when it lands. Hair ties are a big hit with her.

They ALL like anything dangling on a string, or the Cat Dancer toy I got them. Love love love them.

My Artie has a red pepper catnip toy which I bought for him when he was adopted.

He always goes over to it. This is his favorite toy.

The original one was getting pretty ratty from him licking, loving, kicking and biting it; in addition to the catnip starting to fall out.

I Had to get another one for him. What a job it was trying to get him transitioned over to the new one!

I even had to scent wipe it with the other one...no Artie was not fooled.

This one pretty ratty also.  I need to find another one for him...Now this one is losing its catnip.

He always looks for this pepper....Instead of it being roundish it is flat as a folded piece of paper.,...

My guys are pretty good about sharing toys, and their favourites change from time to time.

Shadow currently isn't showing a massive attachment to one toy in particular - it all depends on his mood.

Asha has two favourites currently - both Christmas presents. I made one of them myself - a little 2D felt koala with lots of feathers sticking out one end. It's stuffed with Cosmic catnip. In fact, there were a couple of fights over this little guy at first as they BOTH loved him. He's pretty beat up now, but still in one piece.

This is her other favourite and she LOVES it. I think it's catnip filled.

When it comes to interactive play, Shadow had a long feather stick that he loved to death...its only got about 3 feathers left now, so it's no longer worthy of his attention.

Asha's favourite interactive toy was a freebie - a squeaky mouse on a stick. She goes nuts whenever I get it out :jump:

Mia had a little bird toy with feathers that she really likes.  She would curl up around it and pull it close to her.  Unfortunately when we were at the ER vet last month they lost it.
We have another one that's similar, but I don't think she likes it as much.

Chessy has a little blue puff ball that he loves.  He carries it around and leaves it for us in different parts of the house.

Ruby loves catnip toys in general. I rotate them, so she's got a new favorite every week, but she goes absolutely nuts over the fuzzy catnip mice. She'll tear around with one in her mouth, and throw them so she can chase them.

Jasper had a fuzzy wand you that he liked, but he was more of a snuggler than a player.

Onyx has a newfound love of feather wands. I got her jumping and flipping all over the place lady night. She was panting by the time we were done! When I put it down she dragged it away and started chewing/pulling at the feathers like it was a little bird. :lol3:

so cute, when they toss things and then pounce on them!

mine all love the cat dancer wand toy too!
cat dancer was the first toy that our jaspurr and snick played with together, and it was the first toy that jaspurr and the girls played with together too!

Not toys but 2 of my cats are very possessive of 2 certain throw pillows. They nurse and knead them and sleep on them.
The toys can come and go without a thought. But dear gosh when someone touches their pillows or if I wash them watch out !

Is this the red pepper toy Artie likes? When I adopted Paul and Chula, this toy came with them. It was their favorite at the time but Paul moved on to his carrot and Chula likes chasing the red dot more. Anyway, I couldn't find a replacement so good luck - I hope you find one. Ours is also totally flat!

Emma loves a Martha Stewart sisal ball toy. She carries it around and talks to it. I don't think it's made anymore but it kind of looks like this and has a tag that sticks out. She also loves another Martha Stewart ball toy, bsically a jingly ping pong ball covered in fabric.

Leroy doesn't have much interest in toys. He was obsessed with a soft giraffe toy for awhile but lost interest in that.

They were given a crinkly catnip-filled butterfly with blue feathers for Christmas and they absolutely love it. I keep finding it stashed in strange places.

They also really like their treats ball. Hiro, the tuxedo, has got really good at it now. He just nudges it along slowly with his nose, sucking up the treats as they fall out.

My cats have a couple of favorites.  My sister gave them a tunnel about three years ago and they loooooove that thing.  They still play in it constantly--we're always getting startled by the sound of one of them crashing through it.
This year they got a tent for Christmas made out of the same kind of fabric as the tunnel, and that's become their second favorite--they love to dive through the holes or sleep in it.

Oh, yes, the Cosmic Catnip toys.  Our cats like those, too.  How cute that Artie didn't want to give up his original one!

Update on this. Ruby ripped the furry "skin" off the plastic part of one of her mice at some point. When I dumped out our toy bin, Onyx decided that the skin is her favorite toy. :lol3:

Mine have favorite toys; but they are more possessive over their beds!  Mooch's current bed is my bathrobe.  I haven't been able to wear it lately because she is curled up in it!  Noodles is really into her new heated bed.
