I found out that one of my cats is allergic to plastic. I have already switched her food bowls over to ceramic and metal, and am replacing her plastic fountain with a ceramic one, but I can't find and non plastic litter boxes. I don't want to get the disposable litter boxes cause I don't want to constantly buy a new one, and I am sure it would leak with extended use.

I am thinking I may have to make a wooden one, and put a water proof finish or something in it. I don't know. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what to do?

What about disposable aluminum baking pans?  They make some pretty big and they're deep.  I want to say that I saw a metal litter box in Petsmart once upon a time, too.  I know they also make litter boxes out of recycled paper or cardboard.

I know this is an old post but how did you determine your kitty had a plastic allergy? I’m switching to a stainless steel litter dish just to be safe. She has allergies but I’m not sure what’s causing it.

Hi! This thread is old and the OP hasn't been active on this site since 2016. Create your own thread and provide as much detail as you can regarding what is happening for you to think your cat has allergies of any kind. A new thread will most likely get a lot more attention!
