Hi everyone-

I'm sure this topic has been touched upon before but wanted to ask advice or someone to point me to a good thread or link me to a good page that addresses male cats and fish-. I'm feeding my cat moon, a 1.5 year old rescue, weruva wet cans. I have heard varying reports about avoiding fish- wanted to turn here to ask again as lately he seems over chicken which makes picking a variety of flavors pretty difficult.

--On another note he has had some issues with drinking enough water and crystals/ uti's. I've had to add water to his wet food- so continue to do that- but did want to ask opinions about fish here.

Thanks!!

Which flavors are you feeding? I think feeding some fish based foods in rotation is just fine, but i wouldn't feel it exclusively. My cats get some fish foods a few times a week. Typically weruva. I am less concerned about it causing urinary issues and more concerned with high mercury levels.

Weruva has a lot of non-seafood varieties
Besides the original line, there's TruLuxe, Cats In The Kitchen, and BFF. Weruvva also makes Soulistic. I'm sure your cat won't get bored with a rotating menu

Seafood is ok. Just limit it to the occasional meal. Once a week is fine. You could add in a little seafood to a meat based food to entice a cat to eat.

Feeding nothing but seafood can be problematic. Some cats get addicted to eating it, other cats may develop urinar issues, seafood tends to be pretty low in protein and high in phosphorus.
