Hi, Happy Saturday. Hope you're all keeping safe and warm.

Today's question is How do you prefer to take photos? Do you have a camera or do you use your phone?

I use a camera, I have a little Canon that has traveled all over with me. My phone camera is pretty useless, I only ever use it in an emergency and then the pictures are usually such terrible quality that I delete them anyway.

How about you, camera or phone?

My only camera is my phone. One of my main criteria when choosing a phone was a quality camera (the other big one was robust, as I'm always dropping it  ). I think it has a 16 megapixel camera, so the picture quality is pretty decent.

I probably would prefer a camera in theory...but it would be something else to lose, drop and generally trash. The fewer bits of tech I have, the better :lol3:

We have a nice Canon that Rick uses sometimes. He has his GoPro now. I have an old Sony Mavica camera that I still like.

But I use my phone most of the time. It's right there, ready, whenever I need to take a picture. And I take my phone with me when I go out to do inspections. It's just easier.

I usually use my Android phone. It's always close by, light to carry and takes pretty good photos. I like the immediacy of it.  I also  have a Nikon DSLR (D3100) with a few extra lenses.  I don't use that as much as I should. I'm still trying to acclimate to a digital 35mm. I just don't have a lot of time to do so which means photos can be hit or miss. It comes out for more photos which are more thought out.  I do kind of wish I had gotten a model with a bit more features. This one was a great price but I can't send pix via wireless directly from it.  I didn't realize how much I would miss being able to do it.

If I am going to an event or just feel like heading out to take pictures, I bring my Canon. Otherwise, I use my phone.

I used to have a camera. I don't know what it was, it was my photographer mother's "purse camera", but it took pretty fantastic photos and I adored it. It sorta became mine (mom never used it) so I took it to college with me. My brother borrowed it, and I haven't seen it sense. That was a few years ago.
Now, I've got the camera on my Android. Nice-looking photos, if you don't try to print them too big.

I use both, but I like using my actual camera more than the phone. Both of which are full of pictures of cats lol. Ever taken so many pics of cats on your phone that it told you you ran out of room?

Anyway, the camera is not a professional one, just a regular point-and-shoot. Funny, I brought it with me when I went to Toronto a couple years back. My friend and I asked the waiter at this place to take our pic. He was impressed that I had an actual camera!

I use my phone a lot but I still have a Point & Shoot style camera I use when we go to events.  I'd love a truly good camera; but that's not a top priority right now.  Someday!

i use a relatively inexpensive vivitar camera. i chose that one because it uses rechargeable batteries! i had a hand-me-down cannon camera before that, which still works fine except for needing a new battery -- those batteries are quite costly.

I have a Sony camera that I like a lot and will take on trips or events. Most of the time I use my phone though.

I'm jealous, Draco! I just use my iPhone camera. I still have my old Maxxuum film camera, though finding film is nigh impossible.

I use both. Why, I don't know. I have my phone, and it's great for some pics like when I'm out and didn't take my camera along. My camera is a Kodak Easy Share point and shoot. I love it. The quality is better than my phone.

And I like that all l have to do is remove the card and insert it into my computer to retrieve the pictures. No cord to lose. Since I'm using a Chromebook Laptop, my phone is not compatible and I have to email phone pics to myself to get them to my computer. It's a pain.

It depends on what I'm photographing and what device is handy.

I use both - Though I favour my wonderful fancy camera
usefully used for the nicer stuff, whereas my phone is used for random convenience.

I have & prefer a camera, I just have a little Cannon digital camera, but my laptop stopped being able to load pictures, I still don't know why, or have had it looked at to be fixed, so I just use my phone now.
