Hello all!

I'm new to the forum.  We have a gregarious (i guess i'd say dominant ) female tabby named Frankie.  During the week we are in the city, in a 1 bedroom apartment.  On the weekends, we put her in her carrier and take her up to our place in the country.   She gets to go outside in the country and hunt and romp and sit on stone walls.   She purrs 24-7 up in the country.   Will rise up like a dog to meet your hand wherever she is.   Loves Loves Loves to go outside.

I've notices that when I first bring her up to the country, especially if its night or she hasn't been here for a while, she will go through a little episode of Feline Hyperesthesia with all the classic symptoms.   This generally only occurs on the first night of the weekend, and usually because we don't let her outside in the evenings when we arrive (this seems to make her very vocal and she doesn't seem to know what to do.)

Does anyone know if this could be the reason she gets those symptoms?   I guess it could be considered mental stress?  Also, we are moving her from one location to another.  I don't know if cats recognize their weekend homes and if they are stressed out.   She is fine in the car, usually sleeping in her carrier.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I don't have any advise/help for you, but supposed anything is possible.

Maybe this is just her way of showing her excitement for being in the Country home?  Cats are a strange breed, that's for sure.  Have you spoken to  your Vet about it to see if there could be some problem??

I have a friend that's convinced her cats can see ghosts. Maybe your weekend home is just haunted!!

Or it could just smell funny. Maybe feliway would help? Her weekday home is probably more impregnated with her (and your) scents.
