It is Nebraska, it is winter, it is cold there is snow on the ground. Last night Lulu was hissing and howling and I discovered a cat looking into

the window face to face with her. I went outside to talk to it and maybe bring it into my warm house, but it ran under my neighbors overhang/

Later I saw it walking through the snow and clearly looked like it was carefully because of the snow. I saw little footprints by my other window,

So before I went to bed I put a bowl of food and a thick folded up towel to get the cat off the dampness. This morning the food bowl was empty

so I refilled it, I figure the cat needs energy from food at the very least in the cold. If I can get it isolated into my house I could at least check with

the Humane Society which is only a mile away for reported lost pets and see about a microchip scan to try to get it back home. It just broke my

heart, looking in the window like "I want to be inside but am scared." It was dark out, but from what I could see this cat looked like my deceased

Black Betty, black with a splotch of white on the chest. I belong to Petfinder, so am going to check the site, they usually send me emails about

lost pets in my area.

I have not seen the cat any more, refilled the food bowl and it is still full. Hopefully it had just got out and went back home. I had a plan,

if I saw it again I was going to put heat under the towel I laid under the overhang, I have these thick frisbee looking discs that you micro

wave for 7 minutes and they stay warm for 8 hours or so, I have them but never use them here because I have no need, I use to use them years ago when we lived in a drafty house. Anyway, hope the cat got to a safe warm place. I looked at my local Humane Society website and did not see anything.
