This might sound strange. I was just wondering, do any of you know what it means if your eyebrows are sort of falling out? This question is not for me, but someone I know (and won't mention for confidentiality purposes) who is wanting me to find out if there is a way to fix this problem. But her eyebrows have kind of disappeared on the outter edges. She uses an eyebrow pencil, and it isn't noticeable. But it bothers her. So does anybody know what might be causing it or of a way she might be able to fix it?

Hmmm...that's unusual. Is she losing any other hair (from her scalp or body hair)? If so, it could mean that she's got a thyroid problem or even lacking certain vitamins in her diet. Another thought I had was that maybe she started using a new facial product or what about new medications?

I'm not sure how well this will help you...it's just the first things that popped into my mind. Good luck!

Dandruff also causes this to happen both on the head and on the eyebrows. Sometimes just dry skin can cause it. I have this problem every time the seasons change. I get bad dandruff and lose alot of my hair, both head and eyebrows. Just a thought

I think I read about that in a book I got called 'Adrenal Fatigue'. That problem can precede thyroid problems, speaking from experience. Their symptoms can be similar.I was put on thyroid meds at one time and it really didn't change me a lot. Then after 10 years of various health struggles I came across some things about adrenal fatigue and finally found a doctor who knew about it and started treating me. It will be a slow recovery, but it took me 10+ years to get in the state I'm in, so I'll have to be patient. It's a good thing I have a big interest in alternative health, otherwise I would've continued my decline.
There's a web site the author set up; www.adrenalfatigue.org. He wrote the book to try to educate people on this since not many medical doctors address the problem until it reaches the addisons disease stage, which is when they quit working. If left untreated, it can cause many other health problems along the way. It's a book everyone should have on hand to learn how to avoid burning them out. Wish I'd had it 20 years ago!
One way to check your adrenal health is to lay down and get relaxed, then have someone take your blood pressure. Then stand up and have it taken again right away. In a healthy person, their bp will rise some, but in an adrenal fatigue person it will drop instead. That's the first test my doc did on me and his response was "boy, your really are shot!" Then he did other tests to see what my cortisol levels and other hormone levels were. When my results came back, he said I only a couple of numbers away from not being able to get out of bed, so I'm glad I found him when I did!
Any way, that's probably more than you wanted to hear, so I'll quit. I just have a big interest in how living things funtion.

Did she ever Shave her eye brows in her life time? WHEN I WAS 18, I CAME UP WITH THE IDEAL TO SHAVE THEM OFF SO NO MORE PLUCKING.... Wrong ideal. They grew back but not the ends. Now 47,I have had to draw the ends on every day they never grew back on the ends.

This also happened to me.

I have a thyroid disorder - Hypothyroidism - the thyroid gland produces too little thyroid hormone. Other symptoms included constant tiredness, apathy and weight gain. Does your friend have any of those symptoms?

I now take hormone tablets, which has cured the apathy and tiredness but Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m still working on the weight problem.

My eyebrows havenâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t grown back though!

Thanks everybody. I'm not sure what is causing the eyebrow hair loss, but I told her to ask her doctor about it and that she might need to have her thyroid checked. She does stay tired all the time, but she never stops and that could why she is tired so much. She needs to learn to take a break every once in a while. She is also stressed out a lot. She is a worrier, trying not to be a worrier. Also, no, she doesn't have dandruff. So, I don't know. And to answer your question, Oava, no, she never has shaved them, but thanks for trying to help. Maybe she will ask her doctor about it. He might could help her with it. Thanks for all your help everybody.
