We went to a party on Saturday night where the bar was cash only, and it threw a lot of people for a loop. We had cash on us because we always make sure we have some when going to an event like that, but I often have minimal cash on me and rely heavily on my debit card when I'm out.

Do you normally carry cash or do you rely on cards or phone apps?

I should...but if I have it readily available, I tend to spend it.

I rarely have more than $20 on me.  I go to the supermarket once a week, use my debit card with the pin so I can get a little cash back.  I used to be terrible with cash as far as spending it and not knowing where it went.  I don't do that anymore but I am out of the habit of carrying much cash and I never got back in the habit.

I rarely have cash on me either. I am lucky to have a dollar for a soda from the vending machine here at work, lol.

I use my debit card a lot and try not to use my credit card.

I've never used my debit card.
So yeah, I use cash all the time. We don't have much in the way of bills anymore, other than electricty, trash, cable, insurances, etc. so Rick still uses checks for them.

For my own purchases, it's strictly cash.

Generally I have cash on me. I'd rather lose that or have it stolen than have to go to the trouble of replacing debit or credit cards. Our town recently lost internet service for several days, and the stores couldn't process debit or credit card purchases. One bank had to shut down completely. Anybody without cash was out of luck.

A lot of the places I go to for shows are at bars rather than proper venues (support local music!) so are often cash-only, so I've gotten used to carrying cash with me. Some of them are at the point where they are allowing credit cards, but the majority of them still don't.

I never carry cash. I actually have no cash in my wallet right now, because I spend the last dollar yesterday when I got a drink from a vending machine.

I tried doing the Dave Ramsey thing for a month and found out that it honestly scares me to death to carry more than $20 or $30! I kept checking my pockets/wallet every 5 seconds. Plus it turned out that I didn't spend less---I actually spent more! Like an "ooh, I have the cash for it right here so why not?" kind of thing, haha. So I went back to my usual card-carrying ways. I use a cash-back credit card for almost everything, and pay it off every month. I don't worry about losing it because it's so easy to call the company, have them cancel that card and send a new one, and the customer isn't responsible for fraudulent charges. Better than losing cash, for me! I don't use my debit card except for very occasionally taking $20 out of the ATM. Just in case.

I sometimes have $20 to $30, but that's all. I use my debit card the rest of the time. I like it much better that way as I can track and budget my expenditures.

I usually have $20 on me for emergencies, cash-only purchases, but that's it. We use credit cards for everything we can because we collect points, and because those purchases are protected more than debit cards. Also with one of the credit cards you automatically get double the warranty on appliances etc, so we always use that one for major purchases.

I rarely have cash and when I do, I wind up giving it away to people in need.   During the holidays I carried $20 with me but asked the teller for $5 bills so it would go farther.  Once I gave a guy and his dog on a corner $20.  He said to me your water pump on the car is going.  I went to the mechanic the next day and he was right.  so thankful as I was driving a lot on highways that summer.

I put everything on my credit card.  I get travel points which help with college students coming home.

I always carry some cash with me. One never knows if systems might be down or some kind of emergency pops up where plastic/apps aren't taken.

I usually pay for my lunches in cash when at work unless ordering up.
