I have a 5 1/2 month old female, Daisy, and a 5 month old male (previously neutered) Calvin. They love playing rough with each other but overall get along really well. But when they play, they play hard. Daisy just got spayed yesterday (Tuesday) and felt very groggy and lethargic as they always do from the anesthetics. So the first night my husband and I left daisy in the bathroom and Calvin in the rest of our apartment (they typically never sleep with us). All night and even this morning all they've been doing is meowing LOUD for each other. I figured I'd let them see each other today since I was going to be home but within the first 15 minutes he was already jumping on her trying to play. The anesthesia has worn off so daisy is acting perfectly fine again (even trying to jump up on things), but I don't want them playing too rough while the stitches are still so fresh. I'm just wondering what anyone's take is on it, did anyone else's kittens try to play too hard after one just got surgery? I know my neighbors will NOT like the next week or so if I keep them separated, along with the lack of sleep my husband and I will get. Any advice or input would help!!!

Also I realize this might go better in the "health" or "behavior" forum but I wasn't sure!

Young cats usually heal nicely, but yeah, of course you shall try and stop any wild games at least one week.   With males shorter, but for girls its a quite big surgery.

Rescued semiferales are renown for good healing meat, but home girls are more uneven.

Pain as such is a nice stopper of wild plays, so its not to use pain killers when the worst period is over.  But you dont use it, Im just mentioning...

Agree. They shouldn't play rough and she shouldn't be too active in any way for at least a week.
