Last winter, a cat was abandoned at my home by her previous owners, who were staying with us after they lost their own. They stole from us, and then left their cat. Classy.
After over a year, I found someone in town who is going to take her for a few days to test the waters. This woman has three nice dogs, and Bandit grew up with two dogs and does great with my beagle. I'm more than willing to take her back if they don't get along, and even have someone else who is interested and is next in line to take her in.
Poor Bandit has had to live in my bedroom for a year. My three other cats hate her and they fight violently. Before confining her to my room, one of my cats cut her front leg deeply. Keeping her confined is safe, yet cruel. I feel so bad for doing this to her, but I know it's better than the alternatives.
I'm heartbroken, though. This is literally the sweetest cat I've ever met. She's playful and extremely easy to handle. I often lay her around my shoulders and she happily lounges up there. She plays with my dog. She's amazing, and I so wish I didn't have to give her up, but she just can't live with other cats.
But yeah. I'm driving her over to the new place tomorrow for this three day trial run, haha. The woman seems very nice and said that I'm the only person she'd call if something went wrong. I'm so happy to have my room back and let my three idiots roam the house as they please, but I love this cat. So much. I don't want to let her go.
