Today one year ago I put my beloved Rizzo to sleep.  I remember every minute of our last day together, knowing each of our rituals would be done together for the last time.  The pain was unbelievable but I could not cry for fear of upsetting him.  The next day, which is actually tomorrow, the vet came to the house & it was over.  Did not go well.  If curious, read my original post.  The year went along very rocky; lots of could/should have, etc. & just the empty feeling without him.  He did not want to return to me in another cat body.  He did send a little girl to keep me company, however.  She & I had a very difficult time the first few months & I considered returning her to the HS where I was working.  With the support of a very experienced friend & folks on this site we worked it out & now I would not part with her for anything.  Gradually, I came to be at peace with Rizzo  gone & his decision not to return.

Well, now he wants to & is very excited about returning in the body of a Siberian cat.  I may have to move, as I am only allowed one cat in my condo but such is life.  He wanted me to know that he will be a kitten, very smart, athletic & a whole lot of trouble.  Nothing less than I expected.

Wanted to share with those of you who are currently suffering a loss of a dear feline friend that it does get better as time goes on, so hang in there.  Also, although I made a big deal about planning his return it does not take much effort.  Just set your intention that you would like your friend to return & throw it to the universe.  If they are willing they will just show up in your life one day & you will know that it is them.

Take care & thanks for listening!

I had to go back and read Rizzo's last post...I am so sorry for your losses, how difficult to lose your husband and Rizzo :-(  I can really relate to how horrible it is when the crossing over the bridge doesn't  go smoothly, I bet we could all think of a million things that we wish had gone better.  That is very interesting what he had to say through your AC.  I am glad you were able to work through your differences with the new kitty and you all the best with the new Siberian.

I'm so sorry for your loss!

I'm only allowed one pet under so many pounds where I live, too. Hehe!
It's only a problem in the spring when the weather has turned nice, I open the windows, and all three are perched in the front facing windows of my development. Fortunately, I don't think they're very strict about it, but every place is different.

I'm glad it worked out with the little girl.

it's interesting you see Rizzo returning to you in the form of another kitten. I've never felt that before - each cat was his or her self entirely and truthfully I like it that way. What does happen is that sometimes I will dream of a lost kitty and it is just like being together again. In my dream, I am filled with such joy that it stays with me a bit the next day.

Have you already adopted your new kitten or are you waiting on him. Whichever, I'm sure it's a very exciting time and you'll have to post lots of pictures. And it's great things worked out with your sweet little girl. [emoji]128062[/emoji]

I'm so happy that you received your message, we just have to open our minds and accept what is being shown to us. I know that no other cat will ever replace my little girl, but I believe I will know instantly is she ever comes back. In the meantime, the other little ones in my life bring me joy and happiness, something I didn't believe I would ever feel again in those first dark days. We have to embrace life again and accept the joys and tribulations it brings, it is as they would want for us, to fill our heart with sunshine once again, for that is where we carry them now, and they deserve more then sorrow and darkness. I share your joy and pray that everything comes through as it is planned in the universe, all the luck, and kiss your little girl for me, I'll say a prayer for your beloved Rizzo.

thank you RuthM.  I did not really want to get a purebred cat as I think the plain old house cats are the most beautiful & interesting.  Plus, there are so many that need homes.  By the time I found out that the whole breeder thing was unnecessary my little guy had decided he wanted to be one of those big Siberian cats.

Thanks!  Having a rule about one cat makes me mad.  I own the place & cats are not a bother to anyone.  Restrictions on dogs make sense because they bark & have to be taken out side.  There are  older, retired people here who do not have lot to do.  All it will take is one crabby neighbor walking by my window.

Thank you!  I guess I had to reach the point where I was okay with him not coming back for him to do so.
