Some suggestions:

--Contact your local Humane Society and other shelters in your area. Sometimes they're able to help out by providing food for feral caretakers.

--Explore enlisting the help of a local club, church,  or scouts organization to do a fundraiser to help the cats.

--Call Purina company. They might send you 25-30 dollars worth of coupons. I know they did this for someone who lost their job a few years ago.

--If you're not already doing so, buy in bulk. Walmart has best overall prices, but PetSmart also sells food in bulk and often has sales and coupons.

--Feed only dry food if that's all you can afford, and make water available. Cats can live off of dry food only if they have a water source. If worse comes to worse, you can buy large bags of Meow Mix, which is the least expensive food available and cats like the taste. It's not good quality food--but it's a lot better than no food at all.

--Do a GoFundMe on social media. Never done one myself and not sure how it works, but I know pet owners do this when a crisis arrive.

Good luck.
