Tony declined rapidly over the weekend and crossed the bridge at 9:30 this morning. He was almost 15 years old. His auto immune problem has been there for 10 mos. and our wonderful doctor kept it under control. But the additional issue was his heart, which had weakened a lot. We were with him at the end. Tony was the most wonderful cat we have ever had and will miss him so much. But I like to think that my late BJ was waiting at the bridge for Tony. Those 2 cats adored each other.

Rest in peace my precious Tony.

Lana, I am so very sorry to hear that Tony has crossed the Bridge.  He fought quite the battle for a long time but his body just couldn't take any more.  I hope he crossed peacefully, so sorry.

Thank you to my TCS friends for your kind thoughts. I know you guys understand, more so than a lot of other people. Yes, it was peaceful and quick. I scratched his chin wile the dr was administering the meds and kissed him good-bye. We will get his ashes the end of the week and put it here on the computer table next to BJ, who was Tony's adopted "mommy". Those 2 cats adored each other and now they are together.

You and Paul did everything you could to help Tony and he knew he was a very much-loved little boy. I'm so sorry. He's with BJ now and they're playing together again.

So sorry for your loss.  BJ was most certainly at the bridge to welcome his old friend home.  Peace to you!

I'm so very sorry for the loss of such a beloved family member, we can never be prepared for the pain of such a loss. My almost fifteen year old Burt is fighting the same battle, an enlarged heart and the steady loss of weight and appetite. No matter how much we want them to stay, it is not something we can stop. I pray that your precious memories can bring you comfort, Tony would want you to celebrate his life and the happiness he brought into it, not dwell on the pain and suffering his leaving left behind. The bond he shared with you will be with you forever, not even death can break it or take it away as long as you live. He will be held in loving hearts, and he was very much loved, which is all he ever wanted. My heart goes out to you, please accept my sincere condolences. take care.............RIP sweet Tony, you brought so much to a family that loves you so very much, you will be so very missed, but never forgotten!

So well said! And thank you. Yes, it's so hard to face the loss, but we all know that we gave our special friends a happy and wonderful life filled with love. Too many poor cats and dogs are suffering and never experience what our babies have had. I'm glad we were there with Tony at the end and I'm sure he knew it.
