Hi, I couldn't find Granatapet on the Zooplus.fr, does it go under a different name?

Yay, thank you [emoji]128522[/emoji]
Now just to work out which ones to buy! Lol
We have a newly diagnosed diabetic male cat, he's never been over weight, but has suffered a lot of stress/trauma recently. He's not yet on insulin injections (though the vet thinks it's enevitable) but we want to try a diet approach first, and something that all of our cats can eat rather than having to try and keep them separate, which is nigh on impossible! The vet wants us to feed him a completely dry food prescription diet (which he hates) but personally (having done a bit of research) I don't think this is the best thing for him. However, being newly moved to France we are having some difficulty sourcing ingredients/food at the moment.

The kitty playground
I'm guessing you're looking at low carb high meat foods. Other brands worth trying are Feringa, Catz Finefood (be aware that the Pheasant and chicken has rice - the rest are grain free), Thrive Complete (pure meat - fantastic but pricy..kitty crack in this house!).

Another great brand is Nature's Menu. Again, not the cheapest, but its pure meat. It's a UK brand, so I'm not sure if you can get it in France. Definitely worth looking for though.

@Buttermypaws see this thread on the FelineDiabetes.com web site for info on suitable low carb foods for diabetic cats in Europe: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...for-europeans-and-international-buyers.64843/ The thread is a few years old so I recommend joining the board and asking for a more current list of European brands of foods. And introduce yourself and your cat there, too
It's a very helpful board to get advice and help from other diabetic cat owners. There are lots of ways to feed a multi cat household with cats needing different diets.

The sooner your cat can start insulin along with the right diet the higher the chances of remission is
The FDMB board can go into more details on that. Some cats can go into remission after only being on it for a very short time. Other cats will always need both insulin and diet (my previous cat was) but that's absolutely not a horrible thing.

Hello Angela - I have sent you a PM in response to your email.

Another very good brand is MAC.

I have a PDF file (drawn up by a vet) that lists the ingredients, ratios etc of most European canned foods - i can send it over to you if you let me have your email address.

Nature's menu is very good too, the only place where i have found it available to purchase with delivery to France is the 'medicanimal' website.
