Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. My boy kitty Drift is 2 years old and for 6 months he suffered from blockages from crystals. Finally after almost losing him we fixed the problem. The vet had us on a daily dose of .5ml of prazosin 2 times a day for 1 month until we new the new diet was doing take job. Well we did about a month and a half on the prazosin. Then brought him down to 1 dose every day for 5 days and then completely off... well he has been off for 3 days now and he is so incredibly lethargic it's ridiculous... he has been sleeping 90% of the day and was eating normally up until now. Now he is picking at it but eating all of it, it just takes awhile. The question is can cats suffer from withdrawal? Should this be a cause for a major alarm? Thanks!!

I think this is a question for your Vet.  I honestly don't have answer for you, but hope by now, since no one responded to you, that you have contacted them and perhaps already taken your little guy in to see what might be gong on?  I don't see HOW it could be the Prazosin withdrawal that could be doing it, but stranger things have happened, I guess.

Keep us posted, please.

Brought him to the vet today... turns out he has a fever of 104. He got fluids and an antibiotic shot. She was not too panicked as she thinks it's viral but if he doesn't improve by Wednesday he needs to go back in. Thank you for your response though. Hopefully he pulls through. We've been giving him water through a syringe every few hours as well.
