I live in the Mid-South United States. I clean house on Saturday and noticed when emptying the vacuum that the cats have shed a lot of fur this week and my Maine Coon has thrown up two huge hair balls. Anyone else noticing unusual shedding//hair balls for this time of year??? :bicolor:

My cats never stop shedding. I live in the Midwest. We are still struggling with hairballs. I always understood it its happens daily, not seasonally.

You should see my vacuum. It's a Dyson and has a clear collection chamber. I have to empty it twice in vacuuming a five-room house. Mingo is black, and his fur coats everything, making my beige carpets look very dirty. I even find his fur in books I'm reading. Brushing him makes no difference.

I was kinda thinking the same thing... :lol3:

Except for the hairballs. Those are amazingly a rare occurrence in my home. I'm shocked.

My guy is always shedding, yes Spring is the worst, but I always find fur clumps around the house. I have found that I have to vacuum at lest twice a week, to keep the place presentable.

Some cats just shed more often...

BTW, are you brushing your kitty?  If you are not it could really help with the extra fur that is shedded and the fur balls.

I do not know what kind of weather you have been having, but it has been kind of mild up here;  a milder winter could be adding to it.

I saw a fly last week.. In New England? In January?   Unheard of!!!
