Ok, I am going to ask a dumb (possibly) and ridiculous (definitely) question.

Are my cat's nipples abnormal? My little Sootball is my first cat, so I have no idea what cat nipples are supposed to look like. But Sootball's nipples seem inordinately large and long to me, almost swollen, especially since she has never had kittens and has never been in heat (she was spayed at 5 months old).

Her eating, activity level, and health are good (she is a bit tubby, though), and she has been thoroughly dewormed. She is an 8 month old, indoor only cat. She doesn't like it when I poke at her nipples, but it doesn't seem to cause her any pain, so I don't think it's infected or cancerous.

I am not exactly alarmed by this, which is why I haven't taken her to the vet, but I have always thought it was odd. Her nipples weren't so huge when she was a baby kitten, but I think I first noticed them getting significantly bigger after she reached 6 months of age.

I don't know. Am I crazy, internet?

It it like the whole area is swollen? Pictures just don't show depth very well sometimes. I think it looks normal, I'm sure cats (just like humans) have variations in nipples.

No, other than the actual nipple, the area around it looks normal, just like any other part of Sooty's stomach.

Lol yeah. I was pretty sure I was just being a helicopter cat-mom, but I wanted to get other people's opinions.
  Thank you!
