It is highly unlikely you would hurt her. I found my Dushka at 3 weeks old, very sick and needing warmth all the time. She spent the days in a pouch around my neck and at night she slept curled in the crook of my arm while I slept. 14 years later she still sleeps like that. If I happen to turn over she moves automatically.

if you don't want to go that far, you could put your kitten in a little cat bed on the end of your bed where she would feel warm and secure and she will probably get used to it very quickly. Don't be surprised, though, if she crawls into bed beside you. Some cats like to do that, some prefer to stay on the end of the bed.

Awe! She's SOOO cute! My rule is that my fosters cannot sleep with me until they are able to get on my bed by themselves so that I don't have to worry about crushing them. By that age they're either going to be too big for me to not notice, strong enough to wiggle and wake me up, or loud enough. This usually happens around 4-5 weeks..with the exception of the litter of 3 day olds that the mom insisted be on my bed next to me..haha I put their carrier next to my pillow and placed them all inside. She was okay with that.

Wow, a sweetie!  How is her background, if you know it?  Is her tail bushy?  Ie is she shorthair or mediumhair?

Her tail is dark and with a little knot in it, and she's medium hair I believe

Why I asked if her tail is bushy, is bushy = mediumhaired,  thin = she is shorthaired, just kitten fuzzy...

And, she gives me an impression of a Balinese, ie essentially a semilonghaired siamese.  - They may be longhaired sometimes, but are counted among the semi-longhairs.

This with a knot in it hints she may be a balinese for real, but with knot she cant be used for breeding nor Show, and thus get rid off cheaply and perhaps even anoymously...

Ok, if so, perhaps som Balines-name.  Say some big city on Bali, or some known person coming from Bali...  Or if there was som big championship on Bali, one of the interesting participators....

If tail not bushy at all, you may likewise stick to something thailandish / siamesish....   Anna and the King, no?   :)   Played among others by Jodie Foster against Yul Brynner.

She's adorable. I slept with a kitten that age with no problem. I was so conscious of her being next to me, I never hurt her. She lived to be 18. Someone else here on the site has a cat named Calypso. That's the cutest name. Not Balinese, but cute.

Let me just say that as a guy who probably weighs at least twice your weight, I was worried about hurting my kitten too when I adopted him. I quickly realized that 1) I couldn't keep him off the bed even if I wanted to, 2) Cats are experts at wiggling out of situations, even as babies, and 3) You quickly develop a subconscious mechanism to adjust to their presence.

As to #3, it's to the point now where my cat takes over 3/4 of the bed, and I'll wake up and realize I'm in one small corner of the bed while he's stretched out in the middle, WITH my blanket. lol.

Regarding names, I agonized over that choice too and eventually found a name that just fit him and his personality. The good people here at TCS assured me it wasn't unusual or "wrong" not to officially name him for the first two weeks or so while I was getting to know his personality, and they were right. Good luck!

I agree with what P plan suggested. Live with your new kitty a few weeks, get to know his personality, etc. Then pick a name

what a beautiful girl!!  I agree with the above, spend time with her and her personality will help you decide.

I've realized that by now, she either sleeps by my feet or near my head
I hope that happens with this little bug too, I really want to give her a perfect name, one that suits her just right
