Hi Guys. I have a 8 week old male calico kitten called Sapan and today I saw him laying down in his tray defeacting(sp??? sorry!) he was just kind of on his side, while going toilet. I have never experienced this before and he has done this two or three times today. I'm starting to get a bit worried. Anyone else had this before? Is he okay?

Thanks for any info.
Sam.

Sam, to be honest, the only time I have see this is with a few rescues we had done. The outcome was not good, so I would get to the vet for a really good check-up.

I will take him to the vet. My Nana in all her 50 years + of breeding has never seen that. Thanks Sandie.

He hasn't down this again, he's eating fine drinking fine playing fine etc etc... I'm wondering if maybe he was just a bit constipated at the time??

Constipation does not usually make them lay down when using the litter box- they strain when they are constipated. I would still take the kitten to the vet to be safe it could be anything from a genetic abnormality to an injury to internal problems.

OK, it has been a few weeks now(I think?) and he hasn't done this again(*Phew*) if he does this again we will take him to the vet. Thanks for your help.
