So I adopted Artemis about two to three months ago. He's fully grown, has all his shots, and is about a 3 year old male.
Recently he has developed some lumps on the side of his neck, which have gotten worse over the last two to three weeks. I have an appointment for him on Saturday, so I will be taking him into the vet to see what they have to say. However, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar with their cat?
I adopted him with an injury (he had two toes amputated), which has since fully healed. But now he's definitely itchy and I can feel the bumps on him. He had already been treated for fleas and came home to me flea free. He is indoor only, and I keep a pretty clean apartment. I have very sensitive skin so almost all my cleaning products and soaps are hypoallergenic, no chemicals are where he can reach them either. So I don't think it's my detergent or soaps.
I can't figure out if it's an allergic reaction or a mite, perhaps, as he has been scratching his ears a lot.
Could he be allergic to his litter? I'm using a clumping clay litter, but I plan on replacing that with something more natural and definitely low to no dust tomorrow when I get paid and can afford a 20$ bag of cat litter. The store brand I am currently using seems to have coincided with this reaction ... but the reaction is only on one side of his neck.
Does that indicate a food allergy? He isn't lethargic at all. His personality just keeps growing as we spend more time together. He's just itchy.
Please help if you guys can, I'm worried about all these little bumps, and they are definitely multiplying.
