My female kitty (2.5 years old) has had consistent leaking problems for the last year or so. I have taken her to the vet multiple times and they just give me medication that clears it up for about 2 months and then it comes right back. She ABSOLUTELY refuses to eat wet food even if I restrict dry for 24-48 hours. She would rather starve than eat wet food. I have heard suggestions that it could be bladder stones but I cannot afford to have surgery done. I hate to see her suffer and the constant leaking is getting messy. I bathe her down there every other day or so and put ointment on her to keep the urine from burning her skin seeming shes overweight (another issue I have not been able to solve. She wont lose weight no matter what I try). I have had cats my entire life and am pretty well versed in taking care of them but I am out of ideas on how to fix the bladder issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If any cat does not like a food, and someone tries to restrict it to only that food, it will starve. They will never get "hungry enough" to eat something they don't want to eat. They are stubborn like that. Is that the only solution the vet is giving you? If so, I'd let them know that she is refusing wet food, and she'll only eat dry.

Has the vet done any tests to validate whether or not there are stones? An x-ray would be a good place to start with that if not. You at least want to know what you really are dealing with to make any informed decisions.

Have they said anything about her having blood in her urine? I'm assuming they've done a urinalysis on her anyway.

As Donutte suggests, you really need to find out the underlying cause of this problem in order to move forward with fixing it.
