She is probably pregnant, as nipples pink up around day 21. You'll know for sure in another couple of weeks if her belly begins to grow and she has no more heat cycles.

Hi I am a breeder. I have a girl that I bred (she is 18 months old with her first litter). She got bright pink nipples and her tummy feels a little full and she is at 37 days so she still has time to go. Her belly is not big but a little more full but she has just started acting like she has heat symptoms. She has a little treading on her back legs, and she is whining some. She is eating and drinking, and wanting attention. She has had no medical issues, no discharge etc. No lethargy nothing. I just wander about her acting she is in heat but has the pregnancy symptoms.

Yeah, its fully possible.  It happens sometimes, they do have two different litters, several weeks apart.  With a little luck, both may be delivered and everybody are healthy.  So for example, one of my ex-neigbours had a cat from such a second litter.

Breeders do very seldom see this, because breeders usually have control over their studsa nd matings.  but among moggies that is not that unique. Not common but not unique once you have got your eyes open and are aware.

In your case - you wonder if she perhaps  had an early spontan abortion, or is in false pregnancy.   Perhaps she is - this certainly isnt that unusual, and breeders do see it - by the same reason, they are very aware of their queens.

But being both pregnant and in heat isnt unnatural, so prepare for all variariations....

Also, very late in the pregnancy, its quite common they have heat alike  behavior.  This probably because there is such pressure on all internal organs and glands.

Good luck!

Hi thank you ! I know exactly when she was bred and she was only with my boy for 2 days and was never with him before or after. So I don't think having two litters is possible. Her nipples are so red and glowing almost and getting bigger but yet she is having heat symptoms. Thanks for your response.

Right, without any tom nearby, shw wont have two litters.   I mentioned it mostly to say it clear cut, they can have heat during the pregnancy.  Because they can get pregnant anew.

Im also believing you you do have control on the matings.  I wasnt ironic, I just stated the usual....  BUT those breeders whom do have a stud living in the same house, or have visiting friendly toms, must be careful - the lady isnt beyond all dangers, just because she is happily pregnant.

I am a breeder but a new breeder. Haven't had a litter in 2 years and I just bred my girl to my boy and they are both virgins. It's been 17 days and she looks a little pink but I am not sure.
