I have off work on Monday for the MLK Holiday. One of my GFs and I have planned a shopping date. She's coming down around 9:00 or so and we're heading out. We both need some new clothes, underwear, all kinds of stuff. I want to look at some kind of comforter for our bed (right now we have a bright red with white snowflakes comforter, but that's only good for another month or so), some new tablecloths, etc. I'm actually making a list up of things I want to check out....notice I said "check out", not necessarily buy. And this weekend, I'll spend some time looking through some of the newspaper flyers for what's on sale for the holiday. There's always something on sale somewhere.

And I'm just looking forward to getting out for a while. Since we got Jackie right before Christmas, Rick and I didn't really hit the mall that much or do much in the way of shopping....most of my Christmas shopping was done online this past year. It will be nice to get away from the house for a while, so I'm hoping the weather holds.

Usually I either do my shopping by myself (during a holiday from work, like on Monday, when Rick does not have off). I'll check out the sales, buy a little something, and then come back home. Or Rick and I will take a day and go to a big mall out of the area. We'll make a complete day of it, leaving in the morning and not coming back til night.

Do you shop by yourself or do you go with somebody, whether it's your SO or a friend?

90% of the time I shop by myself. If it's something for Aaron, like clothes ,I drag him kicking and screaming to the store. :lol3: He can't stand it. :lol3:

Once a year, right before Christmas a friend and I have a "shopping day". By that point I usually have most of my Christmas shopping done, so we are doing mostly her Christmas shopping. We also make a day of it, with lunch, a stop for an afternoon cocktail, etc. :lol3:

I had two very close friends and both of them have moved away. I am lonely for a "friend shopper" and wish I could go with you. I have gift cards that are burning a hole in my pocket and also some cash money I was given for Christmas. I need a day of shopping. It is a good way to relax.

I'm not really a big fan of shopping. In fact 90% of my (non-grocery) shopping is done online.

When I do go shopping though, I have to say in answer to the question, "it depends". If I'm just going out to get something, and nothing else before/afterwards, then I just want to go in, get my stuff, and leave. If I'm, say, going out to dinner before/afterwards, or a movie, or something of the like, I go with my best friend then usually, and sometimes my sister-in-law too.

I don't like clothes shopping. All that fuss and bother of getting undressed, trying stuff on, will it fit differently after I wash it? Ugh. I prefer to have a friend or my mom along to tell me if it looks good or not, but I always worry they aren't enjoying themselves, if they aren't shopping too (and if they are shopping, they aren't paying attention to what I'm trying on!).

I do enjoy general shopping, and prefer to go alone. I don't mind shopping with friends but alone is better. I don't want anyone trying to talk me into (or out of!) buying something.

I'm not a big fan of shopping, other than online, and I usually go by myself. I don't mind shopping with other people, though.

I'm not really a shopper, really only when I go to conventions for my interests do I go on "sprees" and spend ridiculous amounts of money on things I don't actually "need". I am however basically the head of my household so I'm at the store frequently for whatever we may need. My boyfriend is NOT a shopper at all, so I'm typically alone.

The only shopping days I can plan are with my mother, and that only happens once in a while with advance notice as we don't get along all that well, but I try to plan days to spend time with her.

I don't like shopping.  I prefer to go alone because I want to go in get what I need and get back out.  When I go with someone they usually want to look around and try on a lot of clothes and I end up biting my tongue out of frustration.

I like shopping, but I like doing pretty much everything solo...so yeah, I prefer shopping alone.

Alone. I don't do a lot of in store shopping with the exception of groceries and cat/dog food. DD isn't around most of the time and even when she is, she rarely goes unless there's something in it for her (something she wants or needs). I prefer to go by myself as I can browse if I feel like it and I can go to whatever store/department I want

I prefer being alone for all types of shopping.  Tom always offers to tag along for the company, but honestly, much as I love him he's a huge hindrance to me.  He always looks like he can't wait to get out of where we are. I can't concentrate knowing the person with me is getting bored or is annoyed with everyone else in the stores.  Grocery shopping is the biggest problem.  Clothing shopping? I wouldn't dream of ever having along with me if I'm shopping for myself - I could care less of his opinion on what I purchase.  If it's for him, it isn't quite as bad but his lack of decision making gets to me and then I'm the one annoyed LOL

I used to prefer shopping alone since I got more done that way.  Now tho because of my health problems, I rather go with someone.

It depends on what I'm getting or looking for.  But I usually like to shop with my mom because we are both pretty efficient.  If we are looking at separate things sometimes we split up and then meet back later.  :)

Alone.  I shop once a month for EVERYTHING, and I wander about, getting my eyetracks on everything in the store.  I have to go to WalMart, because I only have a ride once a month, and I have to do all my shopping then...food, household, clothing, pet, everything.  He shops, and walks around on his own, and never cares how long I might take, which is good, but he doesn't want to make a lot of stops, either.

Alone. I'm so back and forth, grabbing items, then changing my mind and putting them away, I'll look at the same display 4 different times in one trip trying to decide yes or no. I'm like a 2 year old wiht ADD.

But I do my shopping once a month, so I have to make sure I'm stocked on enough for the month.

And no matter wether I have a list or not I will always forget the ONE ITEM i needed most. And a cartful of stuff I don't need. And someone keeps putting toys and feline accessories in my cart. I wonder how that happens..........
