Hi, I had a recent issue with a cat in my apartment. She belongs to my roommate, but I like this cat a lot and wanted to see if anyone could weigh in with any useful information.

The cat was given topical flea medication for dogs, applied to the back of her neck. While apparently the other cat here has had them before with no issues, this one wasn't as lucky. She became very distressed for a while, running around and hiding, and after being taken to the vet has calmed down except for persistent ear twitching.

She can't sit still for more than a few seconds without her ears twitching uncontrollably. She rubs them with her paws, turns over to rub them on the floor, and is obviously very uncomfortable. She is eating a little bit and catching some sleep. She can definitely hear, but I don't know if her hearing's been affected at all.

I just want to know if anyone's gone through anything like this before, if it's liable to get better or worse? Anything else we can do to relax the cat? I wasn't at the vet when my roommate took her in, so I didn't hear anything they said directly. I know we're keeping an eye on her in case the twitching develops into seizures, but it's been 2 and a half days since the incident and so far nothing's changed.
