OK so I've been calling vets to get my 7 month old male fixed as he's keeping the whole house up ALL hrs of the night! Now my husband has gotten chewed out by the boss for nodding off at work!! I've tried everything else except him getting fixed (3 weeks!) Is there anything I can give him to help him sleep so I don't have to rehome him! Hubby says I find a solution or a new home! bell was a drop off so when we got him we weren't on the market in the first place. I really can't even afford this cat!! But I don't want to see him put to sleep or abused! Oh I need help!

Update!! Called a few more rescue places today. I'm getting papers in the mail to get him fixed for low income families and I should be able to fixed next week if they have an opening!

What have you tried to tire him out during the day before bed?

It's frustrating to me that you would rehome him for doing something natural and easily prevented.  You need to think of it as your pet being incredibly uncomfortable.  He is being controlled by hormones and is desperate to get out as a result.  It may be annoying to you, but it's also annoying to him.  This is why it is recommended that pets are fixed before they reach sexual maturity.

I would try to wipe him out before bed time with active play sessions.  In addition, keep trying vets and rescues.  Hopefully you can get on a waiting list and get him in sooner rather than later.

I've played with him of on words of 2 hrs before bed. I didn't go and pick him up. He was dropped off on my property and was almost hit by a car! I don't want to rehome him that's why I'm asking! I really financially can't even afford this cat and I'm doing the best I can do for him! I don't pay the bills. My husband does and we can't afford for him to lose his job! I've tried laser lights and the chase game. The bells on a stick etc. I have researched and tried everything to get him to sleep. Right now I have over drafted my bank account just to feed him. The only person close to me willing tl fix him on a payment plan has said 3 weeks till they can get him in.

Update!
I'm trying a catnip spray on his bedding tonight. Seems so far so good! We did our play time, dinner, litter box. He's now laying in his bed happy as a clam.
