nala is going on her 9th week.. she hasnt nested or anything yet.. she follows me everywhere and when she isnt with me she is on my bed. im worried she is considering having the babies on my bed... but i dont want to stress her by moving them if thats the case so ive given her so many options but nothing interests her... any ideas?

also, she has slowed down on eating and im not sure if its because ive switched her food to kitten food and she doesnt like it or she is about to go into labor. im worried shes not eating enough however even her wet food she hasnt touched that much.. she follows me to the kitchen and meows... which is why im concerned but her food bowl is full and i have a cat fountain so shes got constant fresh water.

I was petting her earlier and she was sticking her butt up in the ear like she did when she was in heat... she did this yesterday too while i was brushing her.

anyone have any tips?

Okay now i see what u mean by in the same boat as me. Your cat is acting exactly like mine lol. My cat also constantly wants to lay on my bed and when i try to move her to her birthing box i made her beside my bed she just hops right back out of it and back onto my bed. Idk what to do and she has been acting like she is in heat also which is weird. She isnt like rolling on the floor like she usually does when she is in heat but she is still sticking her butt up in the air and stuff like that...confusing

If i were you I would either try to keep her in one of her birthing spots you have made for her and encourage her to sleep in it so she'll get used to it or put an old blanket and a towel or 2 down on your bed just as a precaution.

The cats are confused by the pregnancy hormones.  That's why they are sticking their buts up like they're in heat.

The moms don't go into the chosen nest until they are ready to give birth.  It's an instinct thing. They don't want to attract predators or get it dirty until they need it.

I like the old blanket or towel on the bed just in case.  They do give birth on beds sometimes.

Not eating is a little concerning.  You can give her the food you were giving her before, it will be fine.  Kitten food is better because it has extra nutrients and fat, but adult food is better than not enough food.  Some moms do stop eating the day they give birth so if this is recent. then no worries.

thanks, it is really recent that she hasnt been eating she was eating the kitten food yesterday and looves her wet kitten food... yesterday she was eating plenty.. but tonight she meows at me in the kitchen but when i put food out she eats a couple bites then leaves it but continues to watch me until i leave the kitchen. i place puppy training pads on my bed when im not in it but i dont want to stress her out by moving the kittens after she gives birth.... there for id rather her stay off my bed if its possible.

You will need to handle and move the kittens sometime after she gives birth.  They will need clean bedding in the nest.  Make sure mom can see you and the kittens.  Have a blanket or towel to put the kittens on while you put clean stuff in the nest.  Towels are not the  best.  The kittens claws will not retract for a few weeks and can get stuck in the loops.  Fleece or old T-shirts work well.

thanks,

my plan is to use dog training pads... ive put them in every place that she could potentially want to give birth. that way i can pull them out from under Nala and her kittens so that im not bothering them too too much.

My cat Nala is due to give birth any day now and her nipples are dry and flaking. Would it be okay for me to put some coconut oil on them... would that help? Any other suggestions?

Olive oil or udder cream are common suggestions. Coconut oil would probably be fine too. The flaking is usually dried milk.

Not to worry you, but you may want to watch and make sure the first one comes out ok. She should not be actively trying to push for more than half an hour without a birth. She may need a vet if she's pushing up no effect.

She hasn't pushed or had any visible contractions. But she also doesn't seem stressed she's resting now and purring
