Hi all, my cat is pregnant. I wonder if I should give her the feline pediatric growth or pediatric weaning ( both are royal canin product) during her pregnancy until she gives birth? because previously, she did not have enough milk for her baby (and I did not know that was the reason at first) and so the baby died.  It says on the brochure that the pediatric growth suitable for kittens from 4 months to neutering while the feline pediatric weaning suitable for kittens from 4 weeks to 4 months.  So, which type of royal canin should I give between those two? the pet shop seller ask me to take the pediatric growth one but when I read the indications, the weaning one is for pregnant/lactating queens. can you help me with this pretty please? thank you a lot.

I would contact the pet food company to be sure, but I don't think it matters which one you feed her.  She needs a lot of food, wet and dry and kitten food is best.  Let her eat all she wants.  When you begin weaning the kittens then you will want the one for younger kittens.

Please know that your cat can get pregnant again within a week of delivering. Please keep her inside and away from intact males until she is spayed when the kittens are weaned at 8 weeks. It is not healthy for cats to have multiple litters or heat cycles.

thank you Handsome Kitty  & talkingpeanut  for the responses. I bought the pediatric growth one yesterday as recommended by the seller.

does the kitten food also increases the milk produced by queen?

The cat needs enough food/calories to produce milk.  I don't think particular foods increase milk production, but they can increase the quality of the milk.  Her body will take nutrients her body needs or has and will give them to the kittens through her milk, so you also want to make sure that it's a good quality food so mom is in good health throughout pregnancy and nursing.  Pregnant and nursing moms eat a lot.  Give her as much as she will eat.
