Good Morning!

for today's Question of the Day, let's have some fun!

If you (and your cat(s) could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose to live?

i think for us, jaspurr and the girls and i, i'd like to live in a warm climate. i would prefer to live in the US too. i think i'd choose either Florida, or somewhere in the southwest US.

How about you?

I would live in the Southwest U.S.  I spent some time in New Mexico and loved it there.  I would probably live in the high desert, somewhere like Santa Fe because they do still have seasonal changes.  Their winters are nothing like Ohio winters can be.  It has been really mild so far this winter though.  We are getting our first snow now but it's supposed to warm up and be mild again by the middle of the week.

I LOVE NYC.

I've worked there my entire life pretty much.

Lived there for about 10 years.

If I could afford to be there again, which means a place big enough for me, my BF and 2 kitties, I would in a heart beat.

I've loved other places, some I think I could live in but NYC has my heart.

Belize. I know, I keep saying this and I'm completely serious. No more snow, no more cold, no more ice.

I can handle heat and humidity; I cannot handle being cold for several months of the year.

I'm thinking somewhere in the Hawian Islands but I've never lived in a city. I want to visit NYC really bad!

I wouldn't mind going back to live in San Diego where I lived from 1972 thru 1980.  The weather is beautiful there and close to lots of great places.

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and that is where I always have and always will call 'home'.

Yes, we have the four seasons and the older I get, the more I detest the cold weather. But I've lived other places and I remember my first Christmas in Texas. UGH! It was 74F and we sat around the Christmas tree barefooted, in shorts and t-shirts with the air conditioner on. Christmas lights were strung outside on palm trees and I cried for three days!  There are a lot of places I would love to visit, but when it boils down to it... There's no place like HOME!

I do NOT like the tropics. Bugs, fungus, humidity, ugh. Now, maybe a mountainous area of an equatorial country, that could be OK. Somewhere not so wet but still doesn't get bitter cold. But I don't mind reasonable cold, I'm fine down to about 10 degrees. Under that, no thanks. So somewhere that has seasons but never gets colder than 10 degrees :tongue2:.

Somewhere warm. Australia might be nice (I have family over there), but I'm not too keen on all the monster bugs and spiders (I'm fine with spiders of all sizes in the UK...just not sure how I'd adjust to the venomous ones :lol3: )

In reality, I don't see me moving far...if at all. Much as I hate British weather, I'm REALLY bad with change. Just the thought of the process of moving freaks me out. Of course, if I could wave a magic wand and suddenly be moved, with everything in place and unpacked, that might be a different matter....

I'm happy where I am
Ontario, Canada for the win!  But if I absolutely had to choose beyond that, it would definitely be Northern or Central Europe.

Plus when it comes to my animals, I tend to care more about how the animal rights laws are, then worry about things like the weather/climate. Then afterward think about stuff like what is available in terms of local activities.

hmmmm, that makes good sense! so the 'high desert' areas don't generally get snow, but they get something like fall/spring weather, in addition to the warm summer weather?

here, the snow came (3-4 inches on the ground for several days) and then the unseasonably warm weather returned and melted it, so there is no longer any snow on the ground here. YAY! for no snow removal!

ahhh, NYC certainly is a great city! pretty much everything is right there.

my oldest nephew lives in NYC, works in a restaurant -- he's a chef. he's mentioned how hard it is to find an apartment in NYC, and how expensive they can be.

there's absolutely nothing wrong with knowing exactly where you'd like to live!
and right about now i'm definitely dreaming about warm climates!

If it were up to my babies, I'm SURE they'd say somewhere warm. Preferably an uninhabited island where they can wander around lol. Maybe if I win that billion-dollar powerball....

As for me, I like where I'm at. I really love the Chicago area. I used to live in the city but am a full-fledged card-carrying suburnanite now. I love Minneapolis and Toronto as well. Kansas City is nice but gets too hot for my taste. I can deal with the cold a lot better. The kitties definitely don't like it, hence my vents being layered with cats, or cats sleeping in a pile. Oh, and Mitchell, SD would be nice if I was going to go to a "non-city" place. But it's a bit crazy-cold there.
