I've heard some mixed reviews of Amazon Prime. I'm considering becoming a Prime member, so I'm looking for opinions.

Do you have it? Do you like it? Is it worth it?

Thanks!

We've had it since it was introduced and didn't think twice about continuing our Prime membership even when the price went up. Since we live in a small town with a very limited number of stores, and the surrounding towns aren't much better, we do a lot of our shopping online, so the "free" Prime shipping is definitely worthwhile, as is overnight or 2-day shipping; the former is available here if the goods are in a German warehouse, the latter if it's European.

The other perks like Prime video or music and cloud (photo) storage are nice, too, but we don't use them as much as we could

My BF gets the student discount price (yay for being back in school middle aged!) and we've been very happy with the service.  We use it at work also - super fast and for people/companies that make a lot of purchases, well worth it.

It's really only worth it if you intend to shop on Amazon a lot. That two day shipping is super nice. Prime Video has the worst layout in the world, but it's a pretty nice bonus (especially if you're not already subscribed to a different streaming service).
I'd say if you intend to shop there at least a few times a month, go for it. Otherwise it might not be worth it for you.

No I don't have it but I love the Amazon Prime commercial with the little horse that the big horses run away from.  She then clicks on Amazon Prime and the next thing you see is a doggie door in which the little horse comes thru, it is so cute.  Anybody seen it yet?

I'm in my 4th year of Prime. Very rarely do I not get my stuff in 2 days, and now they deliver on Saturdays and Sundays too. I average one Amazon itme a week in the last 2 years. :anon:

We have had it for 2 years I think. Its great! We use a roku to stream from them (and Netflix). I can also borrow books on my kindle and plenty of things are on prime shipping. I feel spoiled with the 2 day shipping; it would be hard to go back to paying or spending a certain amount to get the slow but free shipping.

Their customer service has been good when I've contacted them. Once for kindle support and maybe 2 or 3 times because something arrived damaged. I prefer to chat or email but when my kindle had the ussue (several years ago) I was able to put in for a call back and someone called quickly!

I'm curious about their kindle unlimited program; which is $10 a month I think. My DDs kids kindle came with a free year of the free time unlimited (kid safe program).

I've had it for a couple of years and love it. I enjoy being able to go on there and get free shipping, even if I just need one thing that is not over $25 at that moment.

I also LOVE Prime Pantry. You have to pay $5.99 for shipping, but I had a couple of "free shipping" things to use that I got in December. It's like Peapod (online grocery shopping - might only be in Chicago, not sure), but it's Amazon. Can't get perishables there, but pretty much everything else is there.

I was extremely happy to have it when I was getting oodles of stuff for Lucky. Stuff I couldn't find at the pet store, like a decent pill-popper, or syringe. Never got to use that syringe with him unfortunately, but at least I have it now.

Amazon Prime is well worth it. I order everything off Amazon. I mean even stupid stuff that I don't want to bother going to the store for. Cell phone charging cords, vitamins, DVD's... it's just easier than going to the store.

And often times, it's just plain cheaper.

We have had Amazon Prime for years. We found out our dry cat food is about $10 less a bag through Amazon than in any store locally.  We have 4 cats so this saves us quite a bit of money. We love the free shipping.  Hubby order most of the Christmas presents for my family on Amazon this year and we got everything when we expected it to show up.

It's worth every cent. They lose money on me from the free 2 day shipping alone. I use the subscribe and save for a lot of things. Everything on my S&S is Prime eligible ( I never get anything that isn't. I want my free shipping). My S&S for this month was delivered today. We get the student price too but it's only good for 4 years. After that, you pay the regular price, which I definitely will. I also buy stuff from Amazon that I don't feel like going to Wal Mart or wherever to get. I don't think I've ever had a shipment NOT come in the 2 day period. I actually had one item get here same day since it came UPS and it was shipped from Florida to Florida. If Amazon was a man, I'd marry him tomorrow.

 You are such a hoot!

We've been thinking of going with Prime here, too. I wasn't sure if we used it enough to make it worthwhile, but Rick seems to think we do. I know we do during the Christmas holidays!

Just for the shopping around the holidays part, it is worth it. The rest is all extra.

I bought an entire bed from Amazon and had it delivered. A king size memory foam mattress, frame, platform to go under the mattress and a hypoallergenic mattress cover. I would have spent way more if I had bought it from a mattress store and had them deliver it. I set it up myself and there's plenty of room for me and all 3 of the cats. We all love it. It's so comfortable that I don't want to get out of it in the morning. I have 7 pillows on the bed so if I roll over in my sleep. I go from pillow to pillow.
I woke up yesterday to Henry stretched out on the pillow just to my left looking pretty content. Lilith was on my right and Sophie was at the foot of the bed.

Another reason to love Amazon. They are the gold standard of customer service. I got my subscribe and save order yesterday (yes- on Sunday- delivered by USPS). It was dropped off while I was taking DD back to school. I went to get one of the cases of cat food out to feed the kids this morning and the case I grabbed was Pride by Instinct Lucky's Lamb. The shrink wrap on it was ripped and there was a can missing. It's not in the box. They shipped it like that. The box was intact and the second case of food and other items were fine.  I just did an online chat with them. A replacement case is going out today that I will have by tomorrow. No questions asked. The entire chat may have been about 60 seconds. When Petco sent me the wrong food I was on the phone with them for no less than 20 minutes. It took a full week before I got the replacement and it was WRONG AGAIN. I had ordered a case each of Soulistic Good Karma and Harvest Sunrise. They sent me the GK and a case of tuna. The replacement? More Good Karma. Now, it is a food they eat but not what I ordered. I just kept it.

We don't order many things from Amazon so I wouldn't want to pay for it. But I can see it might help save money for people who buy frequently. I am an E-Bay person. :lol3:
