Hello Fellow Cat Lovers,  I've been glued to this site for a couple of days now and figured it was time to join.  I found it while searching for info on my female cat Chestnut, who developed a urine/kidney infection.  She had a rough day at the vet, and is now sleeping, she'll be back to herself in no time.  We also have a male cat Simon, who's baby picture is featured as my avatar.  He was 3 weeks old in that picture, I found him in the middle of the road out on Long Island, NY, he was most likely dropped by his mom crossing it.  I look forward to browsing and joining in on topics.  I have several subjects I look forward to chatting about.   Both cats are going on 13 come May and June.

Welcome to TCS! I love the name Chestnut for a cat - it's very pretty. Do you have any pictures of her? I hope she gets over the urine/kidney problems, poor baby.

Simon is a little doll in that picture. He was so lucky you came along to rescue him and give him a good home. Would love to see pictures of the grown up Simon. [emoji]128062[/emoji]

Thank you, We adopted Chestnut from a Petco in NYC 5 years ago as a companion for my father, who lived in the apt below us. My dad since Passed and she's been with us for 4 years now.  Unfortunately Simon isn't the gracious host we hoped he'd be and likes to show her that not only is he not a cat like her, but this is his space.  They've managed to coexist but he uses a show of force every so often.  My husband scolds him, but I have to remind my hubby that this has been his home since forever and he's not used to seeing another cat.  He was put out somewhat because now he has to jump on counter to eat his food or else she'll eat it.  He's on a special diet using the Royal Canin Urinary SO Dry, it's the only thing he'll eat.  He was in the hospital for 2 weeks for stones back in 2008.

One thing about my boy, he is sympathetic to Chestnut, it's cute.

I'm just getting used to the flow of this board.  I'm about to post some pictures.

Thanks for your reply, if there are any tips about using this forum, please share.  There's a lot here.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. I am sure Chestnut will come around one of these days.

Welcome to the forum! I'd love to see more photos!

Thank you, @junglecat

I'm sorry for late reply but I got caught up with the sick kitties and bouncing from one thread to another.  There is so much on this website I'm like a kid in a candy store.  Everyone has been so nice and helpful in guiding me through the different features.  Best to you.
