They sell a box mix for the cheddar bay biscuits at Wal Mart (and probably grocery stores too) for about $2. It makes 8 biscuits. They taste exactly like the ones in the restaurant. Just don't try to reheat them in the microwave.
I have never seen them in any stores but if I do, I will certainly try them, thanks.

I can't think of any that I avoid categorically.  There are some that I avoid specific franchises, but I've learned through a LOT of moving that quality varies vastly from location to location.  That shouldn't be, but it is.   For instance, the IHOP on the north side of Chattanooga is dreadful, but the one on the other side of town is wonderful.  In fact, I mentioned to the manager of the new one how happy I was, and that the old one had ruined my son's birthday dinner (that was where he wanted to go) 5 years before, and she gave me vouchers for the whole family to come in and have a "non-birthday dinner" on IHOP!

Regarding quiznos I love their honey mustard chicken salad. Not so much their subs. I prefer subway.

Taco Johns - They don't drain their meat at least not here. Their meat is also spicy, which I do not like.

El Taco - We got chicken salads with a taco bowl and they were just nasty. We walked out and went home and ate cereal lol.

I can't really think of anyting else. Although buffalo wild wings has been disappointing lately.. they sold us old wings just because we had carry out. I'm sure we will go back there, but it was pretty gross.

We don't get a lot of the chain restaurants you've mentioned over here. We get MacDonald's and KFC, but I've never been in either of them because I'm a vegetarian. (I did have some luck using the left over KFC that Mr Husband brought home as bait when I was TNR'ing the local feral cat population though.)

There is a chain restaurant called Bamiyan that I try to avoid. It's supposed to be Chinese but the food is really bad, bland and oily. It's always full of Chinese tourists. I can't imagine they go there for the food, I think they like it because it's the only restaurant around with a smoking section. Bland, oily food in a room full of chain smokers. No thanks

There are so many!

Red Lobster.  I quit going there in my late 20's.  Dinner out was a big deal when we first married and every time we went there I spent most of the time in the bathroom with cramps and runs.  After the 3rd time it had to be the restaurant.  Still don't know what was effecting me there.

Applebee's  I had shrimp and spent the next day and a half with cramps and runs.

Chili's, the one by us has the slowest service in the universe.
These are three I won't go to.  Red Lobster was a standing joke in my home town.  If someone said they ate seafood and got sick, every one would say in unison, "Red Lobster!"  We were always right!

Applebee's - ate there once 25 years ago.  It was bad.  The servers said everything was cooked and frozen, then shipped in and microwaved.  I've heard that things have changed since then, but I still have not tried them again.

Chili's - do they put liquid smoke in everything they serve?

I think a lot of the problems with Red Lobster (at least for us, because we, too, tend to get the cramps and runs) is that they use so much butter. And I don't cook like that. Yes, we only use real butter at home, but I'm pretty careful how we use it. But when we go out, the food is much richer and then we spend time in the restroom for a while. It affects Rick every time. I always tell the server that I don't want the drawn butter with my dinner and I always eat a plain baked potato...no butter or sour cream. We like the Cheddar Bay Biscuits at Red Lobster, but I have a recipe for faux Cheddar Bay Biscuits that I use here at home, so we haven't tried their biscuit mix. I've read mixed reviews about it. I think Red Lobster has changed; definitely not as good as it used to be and their shellfish is often woefully overcooked.

I got really sick on KFC when I was pregnant and it took a while before I could go back there again (unfortunately, I do love KFC....it's a guilty pleasure with me. I don't have it often, but I have it. Maybe once a year, usually when Rick isn't at home; he's not fond of KFC at all). To be fair, I couldn't eat chocolate either when I was pregnant. And I dearly love my chocolate.

I am a big fan of Outback's French Onion Soup; in fact, that's the only reason we ever went to Outback. I'd usually order a rib-eye, done rare. My GF and I used to say, "Make it moo!" I like my steak flopped on a blazing hot grill, turned over, and taken off. That's it. Well, we were in Connecticut and went to an Outback there; we had been there many times. This particular time, the steak had so much gristle I couldn't eat it. It was like chewing gum. The server came by to take our plates and when she saw my steak still on my plate, she immediately brought the manager over. He tried to tell me that rib-eyes are notoriously gristle-y steaks and I told him right out that was BS. He took the price of my steak off our bill.....I simply was not going to eat it. And it wasn't too long after that the Outbacks in PA got rid of the French Onion Soup. That was it for me for Outback. We went into an Outback, I ordered the soup and when the server said they didn't carry it anymore, I said, "OK, thanks!" and we walked back out and went someplace else. Since then, Outback brought the soup back. But now if we go there, I just get soup and salad. That's it. (And if I could find a good recipe for their French Onion Soup that I could make at home, I probably wouldn't go there at all anymore.)

See that's what I do. If there's something at a restaurant that I do like, I'll search around for a faux recipe for that item. Or I'll try to duplicate it at home. Most often, that works out fairly well. I can make it a lot cheaper at home (and sometimes better), so we don't go out to eat that often anymore.

i'd have to say, any (restaurant) chain that has locations at the New York Thruway rest stops. even relatively good chain restaurants, if located at a NY Thruway rest stop, either turn out really bad food or food that causes gastro upset/distress.

I must say most chains in my area are pretty good Applebees is good, Longhorn good, Red lobster sometimes depending on cook, if you go too early you do not get regular cook. I never go to Chipotle, not fond of their spicy food, prefer Taco Bell oddly enough! I don't go to Arby's, their food does not appeal to me. Not fond of Olive Garden but like Bravo! I like salad, soup, grilled chicken etc. I am not s big burger fan. I like thin crust Margheritta pizza.

I know there are several recipes for Applebee's butter pecan blondie online but I haven't tried any of them.  The recipes I have looked at are absolutely decadent.  I don't know if the sauce being more like a frosting was a one off thing or they changed the recipe.  The warm rich maple flavor sauce was the best part.
