Last night I noticed my little guy was licking his back foot a lot and not putting weight on it, so I took him in to the vet today. They sedated him because he wouldn't let them really look at it or clean it, and we needed to make sure there weren't any foreign objects, an abscess, etc. anyway, he initially could barely stand and was stumbling around. It broke my heart :( he kept hitting his head too, so I put him back in his carrier for a while until he was able to walk. He's still a little bit dizzy I think, and just not acting like himself. He's been trying to get outside more than usual, pacing, sniffing the floor like crazy, easily startled, etc. it's only been about 5 or 6 hours since I brought him home. Does anybody know how long it takes for this stuff to wear off?

I always give it a good 24 hours to be completely out of their system.  If you have a really big wire crate, you could put him in that with bedding, litter, food & water.
