I thought I'd killed my sourdough starter as I hadn't fed it in about two weeks. Got it out on Friday and took a look....and a long sniff. It seemed OK, it was covered by the fermented alcohol on the top. I poured that off, got rid of all but 4 ounces and fed the starter. I've been keeping it out on the kitchen counter and have been feeding it twice a day.

It's fine! Full of lovely bubbles and doing its thing again. Whew!

I'm going to put it back into the fridge tonight.

I got all of the Christmas decorations down and packed away. I'm so happy that chore is done!

I finally found a pair of winter boots I liked - and they were 70% off!

The last of the five "ringworm kitties" we got from a rescue can be moved out of quarantine this week. What a relief!

Yesterday was a rainy, dismal day and the sun is now shining brightly. :)

Need this thread terribly today.

So, I'm in a warm house with my mom and critters on this very cold day. It was -1 when I woke up and currently up to 20 (whoa, heat wave!). I know, doesn't seem like a big thing, but I'm a big fan of the little things. There's a lot more of them.

Kudos to Abby for finding her wonderful forever home!

And while we're talking about furkids, I had mentioned in Jackie's thread, but will mention it again here: Jackie spent her first complete night back in the bedroom with us last night. She knocked the gate down again and, this time, although Rick was going to make her go back out to the living room, I went out and brought her beds back to the bedroom. She flopped down and went to sleep for the night. And she was absolutely no trouble at all. Yes, it would have been better had she been able to actually sleep in our bed, but we can't accommodate all the animals....we just can't. It's only a queen-sized bed.

I'm getting my hair cut today! It's been extremely unmanageable and hopefully this will help a lot. :)

I need that so bad. I need it dyed even more :lol3:

It's Thursday, which means tomorrow is Friday. So that's always a good thing. I have coffee in my hand right now, also always a good thing.

I can't believe I'd forgotten this. It's the kittens' six month anniversary with us today! So hard to believe how tiny they once were and how big they are now!

This was the boys on the day they came home. Oscar on the left, Oliver on the right. They were 8 weeks old, 2-1/2 lbs each. This is just a small 10-lb critter carrier, They both fit in there with room to spare!

This is the boys today. Oscar at 9lbs and Oliver at 9-1/2lbs.

Donette, those boys are adorable! I remember when we first brought Mollipop home. She was just so tiny. And next month, she'll be six years old already. And next month, our old "kittens" will turn 20! Time goes by way too quickly. And they grow up fast.

My Ruby finally started snuggling with me again! She'd been ignoring me a lot since we lost Jasper last month. She's still not as cuddly with me as she was before, but we're making progress!

Thank you so much! I picked up Oliver yesterday to look at his ear because he was scratching it - he bolts now when he sees me :lol3: Such a skittish little boy!

I'm so thankful to have a furnace that works well! We got a new furnace a couple years back, right before that REALLY cold winter (January 6, 2014, the high was -20F out, with -50 wind chill). But the house was nice and warm. And it is now! Although it's 7 degrees right now which is pretty warm compared to what it was earlier!

I forgot I had my iPhone in my hoodie pocket and it fell to the hard cement floor when I was running :doh3: ...but it was fine! Just a small chip on the case. It's a new phone, since it was a birthday/Christmas present, so I'm glad it didn't break.

Also, I can't believe the difference after switching Felix to commercial raw! He was shiny before, but now he glistens from head to toe! And the whole litter box situation is so much better! I should've switched earlier.
