Back to work this morning.
  • Fed the kids their breakfast, cleaned up, scooped the boxes, 2.5 miles on the treadmill, made the bed, dosed the girls with Composure, did a quick black light tour of the bedroom and the computer room, grabbed a quick shower and, here I am.
  • I'd like to go to Target tonight after Rick heads in town to bowl. If I get down there, fine; if not, tomorrow is another night.
And I think that will be it for the day. There's really nothing on my agenda once I get out of work.

TGIF! Gosh, what an incredibly long week....and I even had Wednesday off work. Still a long week.
  • Fed the kids their breakfast, cleaned up, scooped the boxes, made the bed, dosed the girls with Composure, did a quick black light tour of the bedroom and the computer room, grabbed a quick shower and, came to work. On the way in, I filled Hannah's gas tank.
  • Moved Muffin back into the computer room this morning, along with her stroller, toys, food and water, and her litter boxes (with no lids). I'm not worried about her peeing anywhere; we are doing this to keep Mollipop and Muffin apart.....it's better for Muffin's stress level. So one day I shut Molli up in the bedroom for the day; another time, I shut Muffin up for the day. Muffin had been living in our bathroom while she got over cystitis (her vet thinks it was caused by the stress of Muffin trying to deal with Molli's aggression all the time, plus dealing with Jackie's wild-woman ways). Anyway, Muffin has been doing quite well, no peeing, no spraying, nothing. And I wanted to move her back into the computer room, where she has more windows, her cat tree, pillows, etc. She has the run of the house as soon as I get home from work, so she and Tabby have plenty of time to run and play together.
  • Hair appointment tonight, so I won't get home until 7:00 or so. Makes for a long day and I'll be ready for an early evening.
ETA: I had to vacuum the computer room floor this morning. I don't know who decided that it would be ever so much fun to dig to China this morning, but there was litter all over the floor and there was no way I was getting all of that with just the broom. I was not amused.

Go by Bath and Body and use some free product coupons they sent me in the mail.

Probably do some laundry.

  • Made my peanut butter frosting base for the cupcakes and I must make the chocolate cupcakes.
  • Run some errands for us and for Rick's mother. Rick's mom's neighbor bought Rick's dad boat. They got the trailer registered, but now need to do the boat (Rick ran out of death certificates, so that's why the boat hasn't been done yet.) I want to hit Target and then Staples. I think we're taking The Beast out for a good run on the Trail this morning, too. It's going to be a sunny day, if a bit cooler than what the week had been.

Back to work after a very busy weekend. Rick's phone rang this morning (It's our alarm clock) and we looked at each other and groaned. Weekend went by way too quickly. Way, way too quickly.
  • Fed the kids their breakfast, cleaned up, scooped the boxes, made the bed, dosed the girls with Composure, did a quick black light tour of the bedroom and the computer room. Rick took The Beast out for her morning pee, did his PT exercises for his shoulder and got off to work. I shut Mollipop in our bedroom and gave Muffin the house today, had a quick shower and I'm sitting in my cube.
  • Planning Commission right after work, but I'm going to try to get out of the meeting. There's really nothing for me to report on this month, so no reason for me to go.
  • Grocery shopping tonight (and I haven't had time to work on a list so I have to do it sometime today)
  • Another litter box scoop, another black light tour of the computer room. Things are really looking well. Since Muffin got over that bout with cystitis, she's really doing well. But I still keep the two girls separated when we're not at home. We have found that Muffin seems to be much less stressed-out overall, even though she still prefers to have her meals served to her back in the computer room (with the door closed, so she can eat in private). She's my little diva-girl and there's nothing wrong with that.

I bought my DD a new bed from Amazon. It's coming today so I need to put it together. It's the same mattress I got but in a queen rather than  king like I got.

There's a day bed in the cat room right now that Henry likes to nap on. That bed is older than DD's current bed so I'm going to dismantle the day bed and take the old mattress and box spring out for trash pickup tomorrow.  I'll donate the day bed frame to the thrift store and move DD's bed into the cat room for Henry. It's more comfortable than the one he has. I'll wash his blanket and the sheets and put them on his "new" bed.

Scoop the boxes and get the recyclables ready for pickup tomorrow.

It's primary day here in Florida. Gotta go vote.

  • Planning Commission right after work. I was able to get out of the one last night, but I have to attend the one tonight, as we are working on a new subdivision ordinance.
  • When I get home, another scooping, another black light tour, and a general quick cleaning about the house. Then I'm off to bed.
I've been thinking both Monday and this morning that if I just had one more hour (maybe two) of sleep, I'd feel better. So hopefully I'll get a fairly early night tonight.

I couldn't sleep for anything last night. I started watching a documentary at 1 AM on Youtube about the Titanic and how it  was likely sunk on purpose. They made a very compelling argument.

I was up until around 2 with that and fell asleep around 230. Woke up to Henry and Sophie standing on me at about 630. The old tapping me with the paw is out. Now they both just stand on me. Another hour would have been great

That's interesting....I'll have to check that out on YouTube. I usually fall asleep so the tv is on til late at night. Then I wake up around 2 or so and turn it off.

Woke up this morning to my usual....."You know, another hour would be wonderful".  I think I'd rather have the cats sitting on the bed (or even on me) staring at me than listen to the Merreowwwww! Merreowwwww! Merreowwww! every 3 seconds til the food is on the floor.
  • Did the usual morning stuff with the cats, litter boxes, etc. Rick's BIL gave us a good gallon Ziploc bag of sauerkraut and I separated that and got it into the freezer. I kept not quite half of it in the fridge because Rick's mom said she's hungry for pork and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes. That's our menu now for this coming Sunday and Rick will bring his mom down for dinner.
  • Tonight is trash night, so clean out the boxes, see what's in the fridge, all that good stuff.
  • Two loads of laundry are separated on the hall floor; got them separated before I got ready for work.
  • May do a quick vacuum about the house tonight.

It was very interesting. This link sums it up pretty well but I'd still recommend watching the documentary. it's a little less than an hour.

Back to the subject

Last night I got the day bed out of the cat room. I brought the whole thing out to the curb. it was not easy to do by myself but I got it. Someone can take the frame if they want or not. Whatever. I have no room for it and it would have been really difficult for me to get it in the truck by myself to take to the thrift store. Henry was not happy that his bed was taken out of their room so I moved DD's old bed in there for him. I washed his blanket and linens. They weren't done until late so they will go back on tonight. I need to move some stuff around in DD's room and vacuum so I can put her new bed together. Plus the usual- feed everyone and scoop the boxes.

I love sauerkraut.

Do you like Kimchi? It's basically a Korean version of sauerkraut. I have a jar of spicy Kimchi in my fridge. It's made with Napa cabbage instead of the standard green cabbage that we're used to. It's really good.

  • Did the usual morning stuff with the cats, litter boxes, etc. A quick check around the house with the black light; things are well. Shut Mollipop in the bedroom for the day with a little food and water and some toys. I really hate doing that to her; she despises being shut up all day long and I feel so badly about it.
  • I have finalized my menu for Easter dinner, just have to make out a grocery list and figure out when to do what. I think there will be 9 of us for Easter dinner.
  • Banking, butcher shop, etc. before going home from work today. A quick stop at the grocery store for macadamia nuts (making cookies with macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips tomorrow and I forgot to get the nuts when we went for groceries). I'd also like to hit the mall tonight, if possible, as I'd like to look for a new Easter/spring tablecloth. And an Easter card for Rick's mom while we're there. I think Dear Richard is ready to upgrade his cell phone now and he's leaning toward the new iPhone....which will be different as we've always had Android (Droid....love, love my Droid Turbo) phones.
And I'd like to have an early night tonight because Rick is working OT Saturday morning, which means we'll have to get up around 4:00 to feed the breakfast crowd. And that's a little too early for me.

Rick just left for work this morning, a bit of OT today....he'll be home around 10:30 or so. He has a bad headache, though, and I think he'll probably come home and go to bed.
  • I just threw the bed sheets in the washer. Mentioned on another thread that we got up at 3:30 to get him off to work and I gave the cats their breakfast early. If we're up, we wouldn't get any peace til they got breakfast, so we figured we'd just go ahead and feed them. And Molli threw her breakfast up in bed.
I stripped the bed down, Rick cleaned the mattress cover (thank goodness for mattress covers) and I'm waiting for it to dry a bit before putting on clean sheets.
  • A quick vacuum and Swiffer about the house. Wipe down the the kitchen and the bathroom a bit. Do the scooping thing.
  • Bake some cookies today. White Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Cookies.
We were going to have Rick's mother down for Sunday dinner tomorrow and the cookies were to be something to give to her to take back home with her. But now they're calling for snow showers.....last Rick heard it's supposed to be snow showery throughout the day tomorrow, so his mother isn't coming down now. I think I'll still bake the cookies, we'll take some cookies when we visit with her tonight and I'll put the rest in the freezer. (Although now that we've decided to bag the dinner with his mom, the revised weather forecast says snow isn't really to start until Sunday night.)

We did find two nice tablecloths last night. One is for daily use this spring and the other one is for Easter.

...with the cats...
today i actually felt up to scooping the litter boxes, doing the better part of the dishes, bundling up the trash and taking that out, and thawing the next portion of raw cat food.

i think i've gotten to the point where i've 'turned the corner' with the flu -- still sick, but my body seems to have drastically slowed down with it's various bodily effects of white blood cells being released to fight off the flu.
