Thanks!

We had a fly invasion one time and it was ugly.

My shorts are almost falling off of me; I can pull them down without unbuttoning them and they look ridiculous.
An occasional fly, like always, but no more invasions. Lived in this house for 30 yrs & 1st time it ever happened. Flies are so disgusting. Love my fly strips everywhere.

LOL. I do the same thing with my shorts even without undoing the belt. They were always a little big in the waist & have gotten bigger & bigger.

Went for my daily 2 hour walk. Slightly sweaty when I got home, but no need for a 2nd shower.

Highlight of my day will be watching Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy. (God, my life is sad.) I am average at Jeopardy (depending on the subject), but have to say I am very good at Wheel.

@Artiemom, I watched some of the Star Trek marathon the other night, too. I watched Nemesis last night on BBC, but fell asleep.

Rick is leaving for Oregon (very) early Wednesday morning. He's taking The Beast to the kennel tonight and will bring her back with him on his way home next week. I'll actually have a whole week where I can come home to the house and not have to listen to her screaming every time I walk in the front door.  Or make sure I have the gates shut so I don't have to worry about her eating cat poop all the time. She goes tonight! And yes, I'm deliriously excited about it.
  • Normal breakfast stuff today, 3.5 miles on the treadmill, made the bed, grabbed a quick shower, etc.
  • Must hit the natural food store and also our local candy store during my lunch today to buy some cashews and some chocolate-covered pretzels for him for his trip. The Snickerdoodles were already made and are in the freezer. I also have to stop at the vet to pick up some food for The Beast.
  • I have to do a load of laundry as Rick needs some shorts for his trip

That is so funny! I watched some of the marathon and recorded a few episodes to watch later, including the "Tribble" one...

I also watched Nemesis last night. I thought it was really good... I cannot remember if I saw it before or not...

It was great watching the original Star Trek again, in HD and large TV.... trying to relate their tools with what we have now....

Today is just doing errands..

Regular morning stuff.

Artie is so clingy to me.. it is really amazing...

Off to hairdressers

have to pick up some prescriptions

taking a trip to TJ's for yogurt, almond milk and whatever I feel like trying; need some protein for my salad tonight.

Have to get a couple of things at Walmart (on the way to TJ's)....

home to make supper

and that will be it..

Off topic but I know you love good coffee. Have you ever tried this brand? They are a Pennsylvania company. I've been drinking their coffee for a while now and it's good.

Oh wow! Thanks! I went to the website and am going to buy Dragon's Breath tonight when I get home from work. Free shipping over $20, too. Nice!

They have k-cups, too. $15 for a box of 24.

P.S. I just love The Trouble with Tribbles.

You're welcome! I hope you like it!

Don't forget to use the discount code at the top of the site SAVE 15% - USE CODE "SUMMER"

I forgot about it with my last order. :rolleyes2

If you like it, you can get a discount by using auto ship. I think the Dragon's Breath ends up less than $10 per bag.

I wasn't a big fan of the original Star Trek but The Trouble with Tribbles was a great episode! DH was a huge fan. I preferred ST TNG. Riker and Picard? Yes please! :lol3:

I loved the original Star Trek and it took me a long time to get used to Picard and Riker. Then one night, I was talking about it with a friend. He said, "Look, just pretend that Kirk and Spock never existed. Watch TNG for itself." Oh, man. I fell in love with Picard and Riker was awesome, too. And I thought Worf rocked. So yeah, I got hooked big time. To the point where that friend, Rick, and I attended a Star Trek convention. It was great and we had such a good time. I had a life-sized Jean-Luc Picard that I used to keep in the computer room.....until he started scaring the crap out of Banshee. She hated Picard with a passion and I had to take him down and put him in the closet. I also have a picture of the NextGen crew with autographs.

I don't think I'm going to get a Picard/Riker 16 t-shirt, but I am buying a coffee mug. Just because it says "Make it So"!!

But I think it should say "Engage" on the other side of the mug!

TNG was just perfectly cast. I liked all of them. I always found the original series really cheesy but I loved Leonard Nimoy (RIP) and George Takei who is so funny- he was the announcer on the Howard Stern Show for awhile and was really good. The fans loved him. I just think he's great in general though.

Dear Richard left for Oregon this morning, so I'm on my own for the next few days. I got up with him at 2:00, then went back to bed and couldn't sleep, so hung out on he computer for an hour or so, then went back to bed again and fell asleep. Only to oversleep and not get back out of bed until 6:45. Just now rolled into work around 7:30 or so, which is almost unheard of for me.....I'm usually here by 7:00.
  • I have three very small piles of laundry on the hallway floor; if I work it out right, I might be able to get two of them into one load, so I'd only need do two loads tonight (I had done a load of stuff for Rick last night)
  • It's trash night, so must do the litter boxes and I have to do them by myself, so it's going to take forever to wash them out, get them dry, and refill them. Rick offered to do them last night, but he had enough stuff to get done without adding them to the mix.
  • It's an exercise night tonight.

Tore my hair out this morning on the phone with Comcast. I had a basic question, which got answered after 3 "experts" were on the phone with me. Idiots!

Beautiful weather here today - hot, sunny & breezy. Had a good daily walk. Met my mailman & told him he keeps giving us other people's mail. Duh.

Waiting for our new local library to open as part of a rehabbed middle school. Kids are in the school, but no sign of library yet. School now has its main playground on the roof, which makes sense, but the high fence surrounding it totally makes me think of a prison. A different kind of fence would have been better IMO.

Oh getting other people's mail. Do I know about that one.

I get a lot of packages. My Amazon subscribe and save orders often get delivered by the USPS on Sundays. One Sunday in July, I was expecting one thing. I opened the door to find SEVEN packages on the doorstep. I brought them in and looked at them. Mine was there along with 2 packages each for 3 different addresses that were not even close to mine. DD was still home from school at the time so when the mail carrier (different one) came by the next day, she flagged him down and showed him what we had gotten the day before. He was shocked. It was (to me) like the carrier just dropped all the packages for that day on my steps. I don't mind delivering them if that is what they want but they are going to be shocked when they see my bill after :lol3::lol3:

We have a locked front gate & the mail slot is part of the gate so I don't have problems receiving other people's packages, thank goodness. That would drive me nuts as I just re-mail the letters I get for others, but I couldn't do that for packages.

today i had a few things to do. i washed the dishes, scooped litter boxes, and took out the trash. i also pre-measured dry ingredients, cut 1/4 of the head of cauliflower into florets, and finely diced some sun-dried tomatoes and pineapple as well as diced 1/4 cup pineapple -- for the sweet & sour cauliflower with pineapple recipe i'll be making tomorrow. i'll see if i can get the rice cooked to go with that, later today. i'm only making 1/4 batch of the recipe, because i'm not 'big' on vegetarian/vegan meals -- so i'm not sure i'll like it, though i think i will.

i'll also work on my budget for a bit today.

Gosh, I'm pooped this morning. It all started when Amber Louise threw up at 2:50. Me being awake and cleaning it up gave BooBoo the impetus to start screaming for breakfast. That got Ms. Pepe started in. And then Amber started. I shut the bedroom door, but then Mollipop and Muffin were stuck in the bedroom. Together. Did not go over well. Tabby was in the hallway and she wanted in the bedroom. I finally got up and started yelling at everybody. I happen to know that NOBODY is starving in this house! And I want quiet! NOW! Silence. For about a half hour anyway. But nobody got fed until 5:00. I got no more sleep after 2:50. But I didn't cave for breakfast either. Brats. I'm pooped. And I have about half a headache. Not a good start to the day.
  • Got up at 5:00 (and not one bloody second sooner, I'll have you know) and gave the kids their breakfast, made the bed, scooped, had a quick shower, returned some library books on my way into work this morning.
You know, there's really nothing on my agenda for tonight. I may go home, give the cats supper, give myself supper, talk to Dear Richard when he calls, and go to bed early.

I am tired!

I had a few woman over who are in charge of the advertisement book which accompanies our Church's Fall Festival. It is really donations and pictures of the establishments which donate..

It was a long day for me. I was up early, picked up around the house, set out some munchies, and then waited for them to arrive.

I felt so out of it .. I am new to doing this. I was really in my own little world and could not keep up with them. A lot of places which told me they would donate, never sent a donation! I have to follow up on them!  I either visited or called 21 places and just a handful came through..

By the time we ended the meeting, and I picked up a bit, it was almost 9pm... that was late for me! I am really getting to be an old fogie..

Artie was so perplexed and scared of all the company. He was good though. A few times he came around to investigate. They just ignored him. too busy to bother.. He was really out of his element.

After I settled down, he ignored me also!!

Today is just an easy day;

Break down the extra table I set up for food

Regular morning stuff

Brush ARtie

Pick up Artie's meds

Visit an elderly neighbor who is moving..have tea with her.

and I feel a nap coming on...Artie woke me up really early this morning---can you say "pay back"!  Yes, he did meow in my ear! He cuddled practically on top of me during the night.. not much sleep....

Furkids started in at 4:00 this morning, so I've been awake since then. I fell asleep around 10 or so last night and pretty much slept straight through until BooBoo started screaming for breakfast. He was soon joined by his sister, so I had the pleasure of having to listen to both of them. I stayed in bed until 5:00 and then dragged my butt out into the kitchen.
  • Breakfast for the brats, emptied the dishwasher, made the bed, scooped, grabbed my shower, etc.
  • Stopped at the post office on my way into work to drop a birthday card to my brother into the mailbox; his birthday is on Sunday.
  • Put $20 worth of gas into Clarence
  • Must run some errands during my lunch break today
  • Not sure what I'm going to do tonight, maybe just a bit of general straightening-up around the house. Nothing big.

i'll be cooking the sweet & sour cauliflower with pineapple recipe today, then will wash the dishes, scoop the litter boxes. i'll be sending an email later this afternoon.

after that, my plan is to relax and watch some tv shows. i may read more in the book i started, though i read for a bit this morning already. i always find doing some reading in the morning to be a good way to start my day, makes me feel relaxed.

  • I plan on ripping through the house today. A good vacuum, dusting, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. Coming back here to the computer room, heading into the bedroom. Clean, clean, clean. That's my game for the day.
  • Shred some address labels and such, old mail with our address. We always shred mail with our address and then take it out to the recycling center. I have to go to the recycling center today anyway.
  • Must go over to my sister's late this afternoon to feed their cats and scoop the boxes over there.
  • Time to order k-cups

Today I want to finish up from cleaning yesterday.
  • Change bed sheets and work on laundry
  • I need to go through my tablecloth tote for some fallish tablecloths and then get some fall decorations out. I don't have much for fall, mostly tablecloths and some pumpkins and such. I do have my witch bottles, so I may put out a few bottles on the kitchen hutch.
  • Must go back over to my sister's to feed her cats and scoop the boxes (Baby Harley is simply hilarious; the little black boy is a purring machine. He's growing so fast! Yesterday when I was over there, he was crawling all over me.)
