It's Monday for me. My weight stayed the same however I lost 1cm from my waist. I'm happy with that. I got through the week and my average calories were less than last week.
Good luck everyone. We can reach our goals :blobmul:

Congrats, Louann Jude!

No gain, no loss.....period. No pounds, no inches. Nothing.

Today is our Memorial Day holiday.

Normally we would have a nice picnic dinner, complete with sweet tea and dessert. Rick and I talked it over. We are having BBQed chicken and a small bowl of macaroni salad. I usually make potato salad because I dearly love potato over macaroni salad. But not today. I'll just end up eating it and I don't want to go there. Rick has decided on no dessert today; he even said no to cookies. I looked at him and said, "OK, so who are you and what have you done with my husband?"

He has blood work around the middle of June for cholesterol and so we're going to stick with this until he has his blood work. If it kills us, we are going to hang in there.

I'm too scared to step on scale, I had terrible week weight loss wise, not much exercise at all and I overate almost all week, but then again it was rest week meant for body to recover from 3 weeks of very hard exercising.

I realize it's not Monday, but yesterday was Memorial Day - so this is my Monday.
I'm up a pound from last week. Hoping it's just water weight. I didn't count calories this weekend. I didn't go too crazy (like if I had a big lunch, I skipped dinner to even out a little) but I still did indulge a little. Chinese food, grilled out with burgers, an entire bottle of wine, and some Oreos for dessert.

Totally worth it.

so far holding steady at 186. But I am now trying to build muscle. I did ok for diet this weekend. I didn't count. but I didn't go overboard. hamburgers and hotdogs-which I love. macaroni and cheese and some chocolate coconut snack thingies that I love. I worked in the yard for a bit yesterday lugging 40lb bags of mulch so that's my workout for Monday-I think this week will try to stick with the plan. the weekend was a freebie and I didn't do bad. I even had soda which I hadn't had in months. ginger ale and rootbeer. So today back at the gym after work then grocery shop. I ended up giving the veggies to my compost pile again. we were not in the mood for salads but did eat blts this week so I ate tons of lettuce and tomato. not sure if that counts.

but now back to my protein bars for breakfast and eggs. forgot my oatmeal for breakfast. got to buy some more. dinner seems to be easier for me to eat smaller amounts-I don't eat two sandwiches anymore. Cutting it in half like someone suggested...still hungry but not famished. as long as I keep drinking fluids it goes away.

keep up the good work folks!

last night finally broke down and messed around with that smith machine for doing weights. I found I can lift heavier weights with it because I don't have to balance it. So not sure if it counts but for now I will practice with it. I am still trying to get the bf to go with me to the gym so I can have a spotter and partner. But he says NO.

last night did squats 45-50-55 as 45 was too easy but 55 was perfect.

chest press at 55lbs. I was estatic. I could have gone up another 5 lbs but I will just keep going slowly.

Deadlift at 55-65. and still easy. Soon enough the weight will get heavier and I will plateau. but for now I am happy with my progress.

Did an hour and 15 min of cardio. walking on the treadmill for 1.5 miles around 35 minutes and 30 min on that stair climber thing then earler in the day did 10-15 min of boxing on my lunchbreak. just enough to make me sweat. to prepare for the evening workout. The gym was empty so it was nice not having to wait in line for the machines.

OK, FWIW, even though I didn't lose any weight or inches last week, I am now completely in size 10 pants/shorts, etc. Last night, I went through my closet and put every single pair of size 12s in a bureau door where I hope they will stay for a long time. And I tried on every pair of size 10s that I own. They all fit well, no bulges, no panty lines from them being too tight, no feeling like a sausage in tight casing. It just felt good. So my 10s are back on hangers in the closet and I've decided to start wearing them all the time now.

I have a ton of size 8 pants and jeans and I feel that, if everything goes OK, it won't be long. I tried a pair of 8s on last night and, while they were a bit tight, I was able to get them closed with no trouble. But I'm not going there; I'm just not ready yet. I hate tight clothing and I fail to see why women try to squeeze themselves into a pair of jeans that obviously do not fit. (We were in Target last night to pick up my script for Prednisone and there was a woman there who had at least four inches of muffin top......and she was wearing a really tight t-shirt. it just looked horrible. I don't want to be that woman. Ever. Rick looked at me and said, "And you worry, dear.") I tend to go more for the baggy look when I'm overweight, which honestly, doesn't look a whole lot better than somebody who's wearing something really tight. There has to be a happy medium!

Tops and sweaters are another story. I'm usually either in an XL or a L. I have  a problem with buttons closing at my bust line; there's usually a gap there. Not pretty. I do have some Med tops and blouses, but I usually wear a t-shirt underneath the blouses when they're supposed to be buttoned....and I'm not ready for the Meds in my closet yet. Not yet.

Am I the only person here who has different wardrobes, depending on weight? It's embarrassing. I have a lot of size 12s, a few size 10s, and a lot of size 8s.  From what I saw in my closet last night, evidently, for the most part, I tend to wear the 12s until they're so completely baggy on me even I can't stand it; then I switch all the way down to my 8s. *SMH* In tops, I have a lot of XLs, quite a few Ls, and some Meds. Small sizes? Um, no. Not gonna happen.

I know they say (whoever "they" are) that once you've lost weight, you should get rid of all your clothes that are too big. I guess the idea is that if you don't have the clothing, you'll just gain the weight back. But I yo-yo so much that I'd only end up buying new larger clothes anyway. I know, it's not a healthy situation.

It's a vicious circle. I love to cook and I love to eat. But I still want to wear a perfect size 8!
And usually what happens is that I stay fairly thin throughout the summer and fall. Come Dec 1, I gain a ton, until January 1 when I start to take it back off. The holidays kill me every year. We're talking a serious weight gain some years....it's not pretty.

Now, since I can't walk for a while (sciatica and I can't walk for exercise til the PT guru gives me the go ahead), I'm really scared to death that the duck doodoo is going to hit the fan and I'm going to get depressed and gain weight. Lately, with everything else going on around here, it doesn't take much for me to get very depressed.

Thanks for reading.

@Winchester  I don't understand why anyone would want to squeeze into a outfit that is three sizes to small either. I have seen a few women who do it but mostly it's teenagers I see that do. Ugh those yoga pants should be outlawed. They are clothes not a second set of skin. I have seen women my size or bigger wearing them tight with a belly shirt. You can see every roll, dimple and flaw. Larry's nephew and his girlfriend were here for a few weeks and while we were out shopping Destiny  bought a really cute outfit, which included the yoga pants. She is young and doesn't have all the cellulite yet, so she looked cute. Larry then asked why didn't you buy an outfit like that. Uh no she is a size 12 and a foot taller than I am it's not going to happen.

I have one pair of 24 that falls off, a few 20's and I bought a pair of 16's that fit. I don't want to go buy a bunch of jeans that I will just lose out of soon. I got a good pair that fits for now and since I stay home and only go out for appointments and shopping I don't see a need to go and buy a bunch of clothes. I talked to Larry and hopefully I will be at a more level place at income tax time. Then I will go buy clothes that is right for me. At that time I will be on this journey for a year. I hope to be a size 12 by then. It's funny I am dreaming of a size 12 and six months ago if someone would have told me that I would be here I wouldn't have believed them.

I have fat clothes and skinny clothes. Thankfully all the fat ones are put away for now. They were size 12's. I am wearing some 10's now, mostly 8 pants. I always have to get the petite sizes too. Then last weekend when the hospice thrift store had fifty percent off everything, I found a jeans skirt, size 6. It has been many years since I have worn a six. My friends met us for supper one night. She had a bag in her hand with three belts that she gave me. She told me she was thinking I might lose my pants. :lol3:

I have a bag upstairs with all my bigger clothes ready to be donated. I'm currently wearing a 12 and I really don't see myself getting below a size 10. I am built bigger and I think I'd look too skinny going below 10. We will see when it happens though.

I used to wear XL size, then I had to start getting XXL size, today I bought shorts, size M and they are not even a bit too small, I'm not sure if those were large M size, or if my new size really is M, but I was amazed how shop has loads of clothes that actually I could wear, even discount rack has most that might fit!

Yes I too have varying sizes of clothes. I'm in my smallest pants again and they were tight but now they are fitting quite well. Don't worry I hid them with long tops when they were tight :D I kept wearing them as a kind of punishment/ torture :lol3: They were soooo uncomfortable :lol3:

Today is my weigh in day. 500grams / 1/2 kilo lost. Woo!! My waist was down 1cm but this morning it's actually up 2cm??? That has to be bloating or something? I'm not too worried about that.

Good luck everybody

Congratulations, Tammat! And to everybody else who has lost this past week!

I lost 4.4 pounds this past week.

Since I started really trying again back on May 9 (a little less than one month ago), I have lost 14.8 pounds. Also, I measured last night and have lost:

4 inches at my waist

4 inches at my hips

2 inches from each thigh

And I'm back into size 10 pants with no problems; unfortunately, I seem to be staying in size Large shirts.

I'll take it.

I didn't lose anything last week and then I had a bad eating weekend and gained a bit. It's ok though, I will get back on track today. I just have 7 pounds until my goal now instead of 5.
