Well done  That's some good results there. Keep up the great work.

I adjusted my calories after I talked to my trainer and was able to get my weekly average down to only 22 calls per day more than I want them to be. I lost 500 grams / 1/2 kilo for the week. My waist went up and down 1/2cm and settled on the the bigger half this morning. So it stayed the same.
Overall I'm happy with my week. 1/2 kilo a week was my goal. Still got 2cm to go off my waist.

Good luck everyone. Stay strong for another week. We can do this

Hi everyone. I have a question????? I'm going to eat a hamburger on Wednesday. A real hamburger not a McDonald's or Burger King. I'll probably have cheese and bacon. I'm trying to work out calories. Do you think 790 would cover it? I'm looking at Applebee's. We don't have Applebee's here but they seem to look similar to what I'll have. I dont want to underestimate. Thanks guys.

After finishing up the second week of the Flat Belly Breakthrough diet, my week ended with a 3.2 pound loss, but no loss in inches at all.

So 7.2 pounds the first week, 3.2 pounds the second week for a total of 10.4 pounds during the two-week period. I'll take it. I was pretty faithful to the diet, other than last Friday when I did have that one slice of mall hoagie pizza.....hoagie pizza is no sauce and topped with Parmesan cheese, a few pieces of chipped ham (and I do mean a few....we counted 3 on my piece of pizza
), some tomatoes, and a ton of lettuce. I always add some hot dried peppers to the slice, too. the worst part of that pizza is probably the crust.

We're stopping it today and may start back up again the beginning of June or thereabouts. It worked, though, and I really wasn't hungry (other than in my head). Rick did not do as well, but he had some other dinner engagements the first week that threw him off a bit. And he really likes his bowl of cold cereal at night as a snack.

@Tammat, your hamburger. You did say you have nutritional scales? Weigh your raw burger to see how many calories it will be. Measure raw and use that amount for the calorie count. Scale your cheese slice(s) too. And the bacon, although you should probably scale your bacon raw, then cook it. If you're using packaged cheese slices, packaged bacon slices, etc, it should say on the packages what the calorie count should be. But since we know that packaged foods tend to fib a little on the calories, you might want to add some extra calories in there, too. Include your bun count, too. Ketchup, etc. You should have a fairly close estimate. (I was always told to weigh the raw meat, not the cooked.)

There are about 288 calories in 4 ounces of 80/20 ground beef. We tend to use 85/15 ground beef most often; that is right around 244 calories for a 4-ounce patty. I don't use 90/10 for hamburgers as I think they get too dry.

Does that help you?

Ketchup, dressing, sauces, leave all those out and burger is not many calories at all, wheat buns can have lot of calories, steak is not too much, unless it is fake stake that has very little meat in it.

One can add tiny bit of sugar to hot steak and it does not feel too dry, does not add up too many calories either. Going to 90/10 has benefit of having less saturated fats.

Cheese is worse thing when it comes to saturated fats and it has ton of sodium, that is good, but needs moderation, it is very easy to overdo with cheese as it has also lot of calories.

Anyway if going out and eating burger in restaurant kind of place, any guess is going to be off, unless they report calories, which they seem to do here, however those are standard portions, add or remove something and it does not apply, amount of sauces and such varies and adds up really quickly.

Eating too little one day is not probably too bad thing, also eating 200 calories too much is not going to show up on scale, but do it whole week and it starts to show up.

Sorry everyone. I didn't clarify that I'm going out to eat the hamburger. That's why I have no idea how to judge calories. I'll ask them how much the pattie weighs and then add it all up I guess. I rarely go out to eat and rarely eat take out.

Same here, just look at what a bother it is trying to figure out how much one is going to eat, it is almost impossible to know! :lol3:

Maybe food scale has spoiled us a bit, it is hard when we can't get the data? :D

When I was traveling at work, I often bought two Megaburgers from this chain restaurant:
http://www.hesburger.com/products?categories[]=hamburgers

You can find energy values from that page too when you click the burger, so maybe it is somewhere around there for similar burgers at different places?

Those burgers were a lot better than McDonalds, but still not the best thing to eat really, but living in a hotel weeks and no chance to cook was limiting a lot what I could eat, so that is how I ended up weighting 140kg.

Thanks jtbo jtbo
I had a woosh this morning :woohoo: I'm not sure that I've ever had one before??? How exciting :woohoo: 700 grams lost since yesterday and 3/4cm off my waist. That's incredible :D I've only stuffed up twice in six weeks and that was 4 weeks ago now so I feel deserving of it.
Hey if this slow loser here can do it then you can do it too :lol3:
Life is better leaner. ;)

Congrats on your Fitbit, Barbara! You're going to enjoy it! Congrats to you and to your husband.

Tammat, you did good, woman. Truly you did.

And so did you Louann Jude! Congratulations! Those plateaus can be killers sometimes.

OK, well, I mentioned last week that I was starting the Flat Belly Breakthrough last Monday. They say about 14 pounds in two weeks.....I forget how many inches. I gave it a good shot for the week and did what I was supposed to. Didn't really feel hungry, unless I purposely didn't eat (like on Saturday when I didn't eat at the luncheon after the funeral service), stayed right around 1,000 calories per day (and I know I mentioned that I could have a sandwich for lunch! :lol3:  I love bread, I dearly love bread, so that worked out well.)

I lost 7.2 pounds this past week. And 2 inches around my waist, 2 inches off my hips, 1 inch off each of my thighs (sorry if that's TMI).

I'll take it.

And we're going to continue for another week.
Winchester Winchester Thanks, Pam. Yes. I am enjoying the Fitbit. Hubby has a pedometer on his phone and he has started tracking his calories and steps. Yesterday he put on a size smaller pants than he had been able to wear. So I laid the rest of those sizes out for him to try today. I am so proud of him.

I have lost a few pounds. Mostly I can tell the walking and cycling is toning my legs and belly. I will be satisfied with that.

Congratulations yourself on the progress you have made.

I bought a fitbit over the weekend. I love it. It's so much easier than using the step counter on my phone (because my phone has to be in my pocket for that and it's too hot for jackets now). I like that it replaces all my random apps and records food and everything.

I drove to Warrnambool today. Home of the famous Kermonds burger. I phoned them yesterday and got the weight of the raw hamburger pattie and then I added up the calories of the other ingredients. It just wasn't worth it. I packed my own lunch and Ate that instead. I bought a coffee that tasted dreadful so I didn't drink it because I wasn't wasting calories on something so awful. To be honest I was a bit of a grump all day because i wanted that burger. In the afternoon I ate an Atkins low carb treat bar thingo and that put me in a better frame of mind. Today was one of those days. It was hard. It sucked. I could have binged easily. I didn't though and my calorie count was on target. I did it and that means I can do it again.
Oh and I tried on clothes in shops. Those change room mirrors and the lighting. Seriously!!!! They are no better in this part of the world. I'm surprised anyone buys anything. That didn't help the mood either ;)

Oh Tammat.

I am so sorry. I could tell how much you wanted that burger and I am so sorry.

You did it, even though it was probably one of the hardest things you've done for a while, you did it.

I am sorry about the burger. I know you wanted so bad. Those mirrors. I HATE those things. I can have a good day and be thinking I like the way I feel in my clothes and walk by a full length mirror in a store and I will be in a bad mood the rest of the day.

Something that has helped me with that is I bought me some spanks, the cheap kind. It helps so much.

I think that if someone would start making change room modules with proper lighting and mirrors, I think it might sell quite well, it could be marketed as boosting the sales and many other things.

I don't use those change rooms, it is like being naked in middle of shop, no locks, often it is just simple curtain or door so that everyone can see you, really no privacy.

Those should be made like portable toilets, simple box that can be transported to proper location, plug it in and perfect change room.

With good design maybe patenting it and selling to every shop in a world, that should make lot of money for cats in need, right?

When I weighed this morning, I saw I have now lost 10 pounds. I am at 125. Now I have to figure out how to keep walking, etc, watching food intake in order to help hubby. He wants to lose 12 more pounds. I don't think I can lose much more without needing new pants :lol3:

Awe thanks you guys. Your support means a lot to me. Today wasn't too bad. I was prepared for another rough one but I wasn't going to let the team down.
We really - really can do this.
:grphug:

jtbo jtbo I think you could make your fortune designing fitting rooms ;) It's also the store lighting. Some of the mirrors in the tiny cubicles yesterday made me look ok and then I stepped out into the store to get a better look and let's just say it was better up close in the dim cubicle Than out under the Bright lights :lol3:

I weigh in on Sunday's on most weeks. I am down to 218.6. At first I was disappointed because I only lost a pound this week. Then in a group I am in on Facebook I seen I have lost 10.5 pounds this month. I got to put myself in check from time to time.
