I've got some good news today. I'm wearing the same jeans I wore 2 1/2 weeks ago and they are more comfy [emoji]128516[/emoji]. Last time I was muffining out the top of them and today I am not. Woo!! They are still a bit tighter than when I bought them and they were always too tight in the calves but the handsome sales assistant said they would give. they never did. Anyways my friend that is some progress and I'm mighty proud [emoji]128516[/emoji][emoji]128516[/emoji]
Great job!

@Tammat, that is progress indeed, also you can think now that you actually saved cost of Jeans, which you can spend on something nice, right? :D

I'm not only fat, now I'm red too, I got sunburn during recent heat wave we had, it was so hot (+20C/68F) so I thought maybe I get little tan to skin, I had sun lotion with number 30 in it, but seemed not to be enough.

Stupid fat, go away, why it cannot be lost by sweating, I guess that is too easy, so just have to count all calories and wait.

Awe thanks everybody :D
jtbo jtbo You're looking great. You need to apply lots of sunscreen and then you need to keep reapplying especially after sweating. :D We are quite familiar with sunscreen in this part of the world ;)

I want to say congrats to everyones progress. JTbo you look great.

I am here to vent more than anything. I was feeling good about myself today. I did a deep clean on the house and took a walk with the baby. Then I went to the store and saw myself in the full length mirror. Complete horror of what I saw. I hate looking in the mirror. All I see is flaws and how fat I am. It's funny I am down 55 pounds and it's not good enough. All I see is the 65 pounds I need to lose. Hopefully I will be happy with what I see when I lose the weight.

Louann Jude, sometimes I don't know how stores sell half the clothing that they do. I swear those mirrors are the worst mirrors on earth. And in the worst lighting imaginable. I can be feeling really good, go into a dressing room and come out thinking that I'm the ugliest person around. They magnify every single flaw on your body.

I agree with Tammat. For crying out loud woman, you've lost 55 pounds! That's amazing. Think about it. OK, you have 65 pounds to go. You're almost halfway there! Stop. Just stop. And think about what you've done so far. And think about where you'd be had you not started this trip. Calm down. And keep on going. We're here with you, every pound of the way.

JTbo, lookin' good!

Hang in there, people!

I want to thank you both. I took the kids to get breakfast this morning and seen a friend there. I haven't seen her in a while and she said I looked good. She could tell I lost weight. That helped so much. It also helped me say no to my all time favorite Biscuits and gravy. I came home and fixed one whole egg and two whites and a slice of cheese. I also added peanut butter to my toast. All for under 300 calories vs the 800 plus in the Subway meal. I am so close to being under 200. I know I am not supposed to reward myself with food but when I get under 200 I will go out for Chinese. I have passed on it twice but that craving for lo mein is getting strong.

It's so hard to stop feeling hungry all the time. I eat a meal replacement bar for breakfast and it really helps. I feel full until lunch time. I wear a size 14 still and I'm 166 pounds. I tried on 12's and I got them on but nowhere near done up.
I know I eat 60% of the days calories by noontime. I eat three times in the morning then the afternoon I only nibble on grapes or fruit- since I workout at noontime I try to keep the stomach not stuffed full by then but eat enough calories to give me energy to lift. Sometimes I eat again at 3 then hit the gym at 4 and eat again at 6 or 7. I try to keep it to small meals but I have a bad habbit of pigging out. Usually at night is the worst for me-snacking to be full so I am not waking up hungry.

Before I started this journey I used to not eat until 11 or 12 all morning-and found by 4pm I would eat nonstop to fill the hunger. The other thing I learned is I eat my feelings. So when things bother me I eat. I also figured out that if I eat before I workout-I have much more energy-the last week I didn't eat before working out and just couldn't get past the 40 min mark of working out. So going to make sure the fuel tank is half full before I workout then I can get more done. I thought this was not how the body is designed as I want to burn the fat I already have but it doesn't work that way for my body. And cutting out sugar still-I feel better now that I have picked foods without added simple sugar-complex carbs are fine-its that sugar that causes issues...so this week I spent most grocery money on protein sources-and eating that instead of chips/treats junk. Slow and steady wins the race.

Thanks, also thanks to everyone else, it means a lot that others can say and straighten our twisted views of ourselves :)

It really does not get any better with weight loss, I have lost a lot of weight and today I noticed on scale that somehow all of sudden I have lost many pounds, my current weight is 85.1kg (187.2 pounds), when I took that photo weight was around 87kg (191.4 pounds) also waist is 1.5cm less, but I still see flaws in me and I feel being fat as last autumn 110kg (242 pounds), even then I did not see myself much different from few years back when I did weight 140kg (308 pounds).

That is bit silly, but that is how our minds deceive us, I know that I can climb stairs much easier now, I can run which I could not do before, all my clothes are enough big to fit two of me in them, I wear clothes that has been too small to wear for a decade, but which I never did throw away.

I'm not sure how we could see ourselves without faults or if all faults just has to be accepted as being part of us and focusing how many things have been fixed, how much weight has been gone away.

I'm afraid I'm not happy even when I'm at my target fat percentage, that should be around when I loose 2.5 - 2.7kg (5.5 - 6 pounds), I guess I see it when I'm there, but it has been bit of surprise to me how my view of myself has not changed even I'm definitely changed, maybe we just blame media and too perfect images of people we see in movies and such? :lol3:

I finally have a Fitbit set up. I have the clip on Fitbit One. So far, I like it, but there is a lot I need to learn about it. It measure steps, distance, active minutes, floors, calories burned and it has a silent alarm feature. I want to learn how to set goals on my dashboard so I can track my progress. My weight was 135, currently 127. I don't need to lose a lot more, maybe three or four pounds.

Hubby and I are walking two miles every day and we have a stationary bicycle that we use when the schedule doesn't allow the walking. He is down to 214 from around 240 at Christmas. His goal is to get below 200 again. Then we are going shopping for him a new suit of clothes.

Monday morning in Australia. I was really excited when I went to bed last night. I was sure I was going to have lost 500 grams. Nope :alright: only 100 grams. My waist is a definite 1/2 cm down though. I had a really good week and I'm proud of myself regardless. My plan will continue.
Good luck everybody.
We can do this

I weigh in on Sunday's just late posting. The last few weeks I have been up and down between 226  and 229. I am so happy to say that I finally broke through. I weighed in at 221.4. It feels so good to see progress again.

I have learned that I want more to eat of the evenings so I eat small meals for breakfast and lunch and a decent size dinner followed by a snack a few hours later. I also have been drinking a lot more water.

Congrats on your Fitbit, Barbara! You're going to enjoy it! Congrats to you and to your husband.

Tammat, you did good, woman. Truly you did.

And so did you Louann Jude! Congratulations! Those plateaus can be killers sometimes.

OK, well, I mentioned last week that I was starting the Flat Belly Breakthrough last Monday. They say about 14 pounds in two weeks.....I forget how many inches. I gave it a good shot for the week and did what I was supposed to. Didn't really feel hungry, unless I purposely didn't eat (like on Saturday when I didn't eat at the luncheon after the funeral service), stayed right around 1,000 calories per day (and I know I mentioned that I could have a sandwich for lunch!
I love bread, I dearly love bread, so that worked out well.)

I lost 7.2 pounds this past week. And 2 inches around my waist, 2 inches off my hips, 1 inch off each of my thighs (sorry if that's TMI).

I'll take it.

And we're going to continue for another week.

Down .4 lbs this week.

Weight loss is so funny. I had cookies and chips Friday night and stayed the same weight, movie popcorn Saturday and stayed the same weight, Sunday I ate really healthy/low-calorie and worked out in the yard for 6 hours. Gained 1/2 lb. I decided to record Sunday morning's weight, because I have been weighing down all week, and I know I couldn't have gained overnight.

I guess it's true that weight loss isn't linear. The "Happy Scale" app has been working well for me to record weight daily and understand fluctuations due to water retention, and other factors.

Currently 4.6 lbs from goal. Still haven't started hitting the gym again, but I feel like it takes so much of my night that I'd rather be gardening, cleaning, or accomplishing something.

Almost forgot my biggest HAPPY moment of the weekend. I was sorting through bins of stored summer clothing that I didn't even bother getting out last summer, and IT ALL FIT again. T-shirts, shorts, summer dresses. I didn't wear shorts at all last summer, because I hated my legs. And shorts looked awesome! I can't remember the last time I was trying on clothes and couldn't stop smiling. I feel like I got a whole new wardrobe.

I ate bar food and had 2 beers on Saturday, lost half a pound. I went out for breakfast and had a bit of dessert yesterday and gained a pound. I'm not doing my weigh in until tomorrow to see if that pounds goes away today.

Wow! I know that shorts thing, sure it is not as bad with us guys, but I felt the same, so fatty legs I had and mostly I did wear very loose clothing because I dislike how I did look.

Now it is different, loosing weight and I can actually see why one would wear tight fitting clothes.

Today I ate three pizzas and drank two big bottles of soda, that makes 3 liters of soda, still had 1000 calorie deficit, it is a lot of calories that firewood making burns.

I down loaded the 'happy scale' Ap this morning. Thanks for that tip. I'm hoping it will help me to get over this plateau or water retention or whatever it is that I going through. I'll take any encouragement I can get :D

Here's a comparison picture (best photo I could find for the before). On the left, last summer and around 190-195 pounds. On the right, today and 165 pounds. I really see the difference when I see it side by side. I've basically lost the weight of one of my kids.
