Pork and sauerkraut over mashed potatoes....our standard New Year's Day dinner. I love sauerkraut.

It's a tossup. We may just have pizza and salad here or we may go out for thai food.

We will have ham, black eye peas, sweet potatoes, traditional food for New Year's Day in the deep south.

Had a lot of family over - as it was my sister's birthday today, brother's birthday on the Dec 28th, cousin's on the Dec 25th, grandfather's on the Dec 26th, uncle's Jan on the 4th and Gran's 99th on the Jan 11th. A lot of us travel, very often, and being mostly from the UK and Europe rather than where I am in North America it's a rare thing to get together.

We're all staying mostly at aunt's BIG place. And a small fantasy B&B.

However, 30 people & dinner was sort of a smorgasbord. German, Belgian, French, Italian/Greek, & Spanish cuisine mostly. All I really wanted was some seafood - my aunt's seafood stew, everything is tossed in that pot - and my chili pepper fried baked potatoes. Instead, got "stuffed".

we're having a party so we're having snacks. Chips, dip, sausage, cheese, soda, champagne, and some Temptations for Comet.

Taco Bell! We really do a new year's day meal. I might have chips & dip later, though but since I had crunchy tacos and nachos I probably won't. We'll see.

We were supposed to make fudge today, but we were busy and never got it done. Maybe tomorrow!

Card night tonight and we're having dinner first. Picnic-type foods (we are all so tired of turkey, ham, pork, mashed potatoes, etc!). So our menu tonight will be meatball subs, crock pot beans, and macaroni salad. With the last of the Christmas cookies for dessert (oddly enough, nobody seems cookied-out yet).....everybody's bringing the last of their cookies tonight).

Later on, we'll have some cheese and crackers, a couple dips, and some guac while we're playing cards.

We are buying a case of Smirnoff Ice to wash everything down.

Leftovers from last night. There's not too much left over, but it will do for us tonight. Meatball subs, some baked beans, and some macaroni salad.

(Dear Richard is already lamenting that the Christmas cookies are all gone. He asked me this morning when I was going to bake cookies again. I think he was kidding. I hope he was kidding. He'd better hope he was kidding!
