Hi Guys,

One of my own cats had kittens the other day, three of them. Two of the babies are fine, one has already been given away to another home as they are already 8 weeks old on Sunday.

But one of them does not want to eat or drink annnyyything! The other baby still here is still drinking from her mother and when I see her drinking I put the small cat with the mum cat but it just lays there.

It ate normal kitten food a few days back but now it does not want it. He's not drinking water or milk even if I try to force feed it.

It's really really thin now and all it does is sleep or sit and stare. I never see it poop anymore. It does not have any flu symptoms like a runny nose, or goop in its eyes. It does not have fleas at all.

I am worried that she will die. Pleeeaaaase help??

Kittens go downhill and die very quickly. Your little one needs vet care as soon as possible, meaning today.

I agree, she needs at least some pediolyte ( not sure on spelling, in the baby section of stores)and kitten formula slowly syringed into the side of her mouth. You can find much help at the top of the page under forums and then Pregnant cats and Kitten Care, and find some older threads. She has to be kept warm above all, and you might want to take a warm washcloth and stimulate her rear end to see if she is constipated and can't go fully. You might try some Karo syrup rubbed on her gums first to give her a boost, then try to get her to nurse on mom which would be the best. I'll pray for recovery, it is heartbreaking to see a little one like this. All the luck!

I think its emergency vet errant - I guess the kitten has a severe constipation - possibly  swallowed something unsuitable, and has total stop indide now. So  an operation necessary may be.

You mean, it is a kitten fo 8 weeks, healthy on all ways, and suddenly stopped to  eat, drink, poo since several days?

At very best its a very bad constipation - THIS in itself can give such symptoms.   But it may be some even worse stop...

If you dont afford the vet and the only alternative is a neigbour whom is a hunter, try with giving pedialyte  / equivalent AND an enema before the neigbour with the gun is called.

In sweden we  sometimes try with fluid  medical paraffine as cleansing of difficult constipations - if you have it at your place, its worth a try.  Your vet probably does has it.
