Are some cats warmer than others?

I have a 5 month ragdoll kitten and whenever I hold him, I can feel that he's incredibly warm. I usually put one hand between his legs on his belly and the other arm supporting his front, and my hands get super warm super fast. However I've held my friend's siberians, one which is the same age as mine and they both feel a lot cooler - my hands don't heat up as fast or as much. The breeder I got him from says that he likes glass coffee tables or cold surfaces and that getting a heated cozy cat bed was pointless. He's healthy, not feverish, went to the vet and everything. So I was wondering if there are certain cats that are just warmer than others without it being a health problem? I think it might also explain why he's not a lap cat - I get uncomfortably warm just holding him, imagine how he feels being on my warm lap with his whole body!

I should also add that he's never liked soft warm surfaces (bed, couch, blankets, anything), is always either on our coffee table or the ceramic floor, and hardly ever stays long in the 'catloaf' position.

All cats have their own quirks just like people and is very possible that your cat emits more heat than others. I've had cat most of my life as a child and they all loved sitting on my lap but with some cats I had to push them off after only a shot time because I would feel like I had a super hot hot water bottle on my lap, needless to say they would be offended for about 5 minutes then just jump right back up for more lap cuddles only to be evicted a short time later...

So enjoy your warm kitty and don't worry about him being to warm he knows how to keep cool by not laying on heat absorbing surfaces...

I know that some short/no hair breeds like Sphinxs get cold quickly, kind of the opposite of your fluffy ragdoll. I would think a big hairy Siberian would be warm though too. Or maybe their fur is better at retaining heat as they evolved in a cold climate?

I guess this is like when some people are always warmer to the touch than other people or something. I think I just want an excuse for why my cat doesn't like to sit on my lap :p.
